"the only thing that was a bummer was all the seaweed on the beach, a seasonal thing but the stay was amazing, staff and the community was terrific. the room we had a penthouse, highly suggested with the jacuzzi, we had a few visitors, a few monkeys trying to drink the water from jacuzzi lol "

"I absolutely loved this resort. Our family stayed at a Dreams resort in the Dominican Republic last year, and we enjoyed that, but Catalonia was far better. Dreams was bigger, had a bigger buffet, no sargassum seaweed on the beach, and an impressive entertainment crew. But, it was the staff at the Catalonia that made all the difference. The people working there were just incredibly warm and friendly. They worked hard to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. After a week there, we felt like we were leaving friends behind. On the entertainment crew, Abraham really stood out. He brought the energy and the humor. At the Steakhouse, Prescilla was very sweet and funny while serving us. Arturo was our waiter at the Mexican restaurant where his smile and friendliness made us feel like we were his only table. Quetzabel greeted us warmly everytime we entered the buffet and really made us feel welcome and accomodated. And during lunch at Bikini Bites, Marcelino and Juan were a lot of fun and made the experience memorable. There were so many others who deserve mentioning as well, but who's names I failed to catch. As far as the more tangible elements of the resort are concerned, they were equally notable. The rooms were great and the housekeeping was excellent. The grounds are beautiful and the pool was inviting. Ironically, I found the buffet food better than the fine dining restaurants on the resort. In short, great resort, and frankly, a great value."

"Very nice resort for relaxing, not a ton of activities or entertainment. Food is ok, nothing really special. Large property so the little golf cart transportation is appreciated. "

"Our room was close to a large generator or a/c unit but it didn’t affect our sleep. The ceiling fan above the bed wasn’t working so they made every effort to correct the problem. It took a couple of visits until it was finally fixed. We were gifted with a nice bottle of champagne and some macarons for the inconvenience. The staff was nice, super friendly and very attentive. Lucas and Javier at Spice were excellent at making us feel comfortable. Ahmed and Geronimo at Asiano and Pedro and Eric at the Chef’s Plate were great as well. We recommend the Chef’s Plate for a great dining experience. The spa was wonderful. I had a facial and body scrub with Damile who was excellent and gentle with my sunburn. 😊"

"This is our favorite resort and we return year after year. One trip with my wife and I and one trip with my two kids and their significant others. It is hilarious that every year my son Jack gets the chocolate covered strawberries and champagne that is intended for my room. We are planning on returning next year to enjoy the pool, food, and fun atmosphere."

"It was awesome trip to Cancun specifically Playa del Carmen .Hotel was good not great Shower was cold mostvof the times and somebstuff had normal wear and tear. The Jungle view was Awesome Trees everywhere all types and some marsipuals walking the gardens The Buffet was Great at Chula Vista Breakfast we had many choices from eggs to mexican dishes and chilaquiles and were Delicious with the Salsas on top Tables Poolside make you feel rrally on Vacation. Swimming pools were nice and access to beach was delightful The club upstairs on Fridays was Totally kool with color coded headphones coordinated to the 3 DJs that are playing The Virtual Club is different but awesome experience and the bar tender was quick im making the drinks which help keep the flow moving .The Late Night Snack Bar hit the spot at 1:00 am tacos of fajitas de carne were recommended Alexis the gentleman was a pleasure to talk too and a Good Worker.... Liked thr place and will be returning in the future Thanks Reef Staff "

"Good food options, bed super comfy, excellent service, specially roof top bar staff at Cielo? Specially The guy from Chetumal y Rodolfo. However, we didn’t like the pressure to be a hotel member? I’m on vacations, not to do business. And…all our reservations for parks and restaurants were not granted bc we didn’t have a reservation #… even though we had the emails showing our conversations. If they don’t give you one, how are supposed to know ? "

"Our stay was amazing. The staff is so kind and attentive. They accommodated our group of 13 at dinner and breakfast regularly. They were very strict with who was allowed on property. We always felt safe. It was also a great location and easy to walk to 5th Ave shopping. "

"I can't say enough wonderful things about Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort & Spa after our recent stay! The property is natural and clean. The natural wildlife is amazing to see. The property is also HUGE but thankfully they have shuttles to drive you around, if need be. Though all the drivers were great, we especially loved our rides with Kevin. Our concierges Dario, Lluvia, Diego, Joseph, Erick, and Omar made sure our every need was met. They were so helpful when making dinner reservations, booking with Dolphin Discovery, and booking spa treatments. In the spa, Carla was especially attentive and made us feel relaxed from the moment we walked in until the shuttle was ready to pick us up and return us to our room. The breakfast and lunch buffets are great! Marcelo and Francisco always made sure we had a table right away and helped us with drinks immediately. The evening restaurants are EXCEPTIONAL. Carnal is a MUST GO TO! The food is delicious and the singers and dancers make for a night you won't soon forget. At Oshi Hibachi, Reynaldo (chef) put on an amazing show and the food was perfectly seasoned. Pueblito Lindo has such delicious, authentic Mexican food and fresh ceviche. The shows in The Platea Theater are top notch. We especially loved the Michael Jackson show! Overall, I give this resort a 12/10 because they went ABOVE AND BEYOND my expectations!"
