"Great property for families! Staff and hotel is very accommodating. Baby bathtubs, bibs, cutlery, cups, etc. could you more seating around the pool as it was often slim pickings. Grounds were beautiful, very well maintained, and the sunsets, unreal!"

"Only one restaurant with limited options that barely change. The food was HORRIBLE. they should be ashamed trying to pass this off as italian cuisine. Do yourself a favour and eat somewhere else. Also the property has no beach. the picture is very decieving. you cant swim in those coves, its just rocks with a bit of water. you can go left or right to try an swim but this stretch of beach is all rocks regardless. The property was very small, 27 rooms only, and quiet. Very CLEAN! and very well maintained. if your looking for a sleepy place to spend a few days this is your place. just go eat somwhere else. "

"A very nice property right on the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful and a very nice breakfast was included. Rental of umbrella and two beach chairs was a little steep at 15 euros, but, hey, it's a touristy location. We really enjoyed it. Only down side was driving downtown. Drivers are crazy! "

"We booked this hotel because Hotel.com stated it was 12 km from Stilo that we wanted to visit. In actual fact it is 38 km from Stilo . We could not spend the hour in travel to visit Stilo. The hotel is comfortable and the staff were excellent in providing help and information."

"We had only one night to stay in this hotel that seemed to be a five star in old days on our way back to Rome. Our room was very clean and spacious with a very nice view of the sea. I also enjoyed using the indoor swimming pool. The staff were also very nice and helpful. the breakfast was very limited and I think it was because not many people were staying at our time. By the way there was a pizzeria restaurant close by called Bambu. Their food was excellent "

"Exceptional resort great facilities all over it wonderful beaches access & use of beach areas exclusively for hotel guests, amazing breakfast options, fabulous diner although limited options great gym facilities incredible spa facilities clean huge & incredibly relaxing. A little distant from Tropea town but no problems with transport to & from, about 15 mins by car a huge 5 stars from me fir this wonderful resort!"

"The hotel was very pretty. The rooms could have use a paint job but we had a great balcony and bathroom was big. We did go off season so there wasn’t a lot of people. I was disappointed that the fountain outside wasn’t on & the ones inside. The staff was mediocre at best. When we checked out there was no one at the front desk and we just left our keys. So our experience wasn’t the best. "

"A very pleasant stay. Shower is hot, bed is firm, area is safe and quiet, front desk very helpful. Food is plentiful and good. It's a bit of a way to town centre but that didn't affect us."

"Got back from the Bagnara two days ago and had the most wonderful stay at Victoria Grand Hotel. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help and make my stay enjoyable. The hotels restaurant serves one of the best pasta dishes. A big shout out to Mirium and Perier who most helpful. The general manager Frank was amazing. He went out of his way to take us round the island and show us all the lovely spots. Had the most awesome stay and would recommend. Thank you to Frank, Mirium, Perier and all the staff working at the hotel. "

"This hotel is listed as a luxurious resort and while it has many amenities such as a spa that was wonderful and brand new and a great pool, much of it needs repairs and updating. They have no luxurious amenities in the room. The furnishings are inexpensive, plastic soap holders and plastic trash can old sheets that are thread bare and rough, towels that are worn and stained we had to ask for new. No towels at the pool or at the sub chairs. You have to rent them daily from the desk if you need towels. Inexpensive plastic bag of shampoo and bar soap. Nothing was luxurious. They offer a got cart to move you around the property to the beach but it’s very old. With torn seats and floor board. Some of The chairs and umbrellas were tearing or thin. The coperta in their restaurant was more than any in the restaurants in Tropea Our bed was sooo hard that i asked for a new room they said but madam you booked that room. I said i just asked for accommodation for three people I didn’t know the condition so the second day they brought me a bed topper. A thin mattress of sorts. I looked under the sheets a realized the first night i was sleeping on only a box spring and the mattress they brought was only about 3-4 inches thick so still not comfortable. And it was old. Our room had cracks in the shower and the furniture was like Ikea particle board stuff and had a headboard that was a piece of poster board with a printed design screwed to the wall "

"They made sure you stay with them was first class service!! The pool was so relaxing. The beach look like paradise. The breakfast, lunch & dinner was Michelin star rated. I’m looking forward to going back to this resort. I truly enjoyed Giancarlo & Settimo , who went over and above to provide quality service!!"

"to begin with I have to admit I liked the 501 against my better judgement at times but the location and views allows a lot to be forgiven. I can imagine the 501 in its glory days would have been spectacular. the architecture is still on place and quality never goes out of style. however the old girl does look a little tired and could benefit from a little renovation in places. the staff, mainly Italian or course and many locals, can be a little abrupt or disinterested when they are busy with other things or distracted. But... this is Italy. they don't mean anything by it but they need to know it's not what some travellers expect. "

"Beautiful beach with clear waters, very friendly staff, loved our appartment. Restaurant on the beach was lovely and convenient, bar was great for morning coffee, evening drinks. Hope to go back for a longer stay!! Exceeded my expectations "
