Grand Stark for the win!

The Grand Stark was the perfect Portland hotel. Within walking distance from the convention center and plenty of restaurants and bars to have a good time!

Fun Staycation spot

Great spot near a couple music venues. Several things nearby to check out. Big spacious room. Missing creamer though- wish I had checked the night before. Well stocked mini bar with snacks too.

Great for an easy stay close to Moda, OMSi

Was here for a quick stay and it was fine. Had a later check in because of a big concert that night, but they gave me a mini bar credit for the inconvenience. Rooms are small but all I needed for a night away. Staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Overall good stay. Sucks that we have to pay a 50$ valet fee for valee but for in city most of the time you have to get vallee. So not to bad, beds were super comfortable.

8/10 Very good

Very convenient hotel in SE Portland. Comfortable bed, basic amenities provided, and friendly staff. Very loud neighborhood at night til the bars closed so bring your ear plugs but otherwise great spot.

Querky and cute!

A very querky and cute hotel! Fun, very comfortable, memorable. Staff all around were very pleasant and professional. Valet parking gave us peace of mind for overnight parking. We ate at the restaurant omsite and while the portions were a little smaller than we thought, the food was outstanding. Would definitely stay here again.

Good, not Great

My stay at Hotel Grand Stark was good - not great and not bad, either. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the bedding was comfortable, and I had all the basics I needed. But, for a building that went through a recent renovation, I would have appreciated sound insulation and new windows to help buffer rooms from the noise of the busy city streets surrounding the building. I ended up using earplugs on my second night to block out the noise. Also, the rain shower head was a very nice touch, but it was so close to the shower wall that the handle to turn the water poked into my back everytime I used the shower. I did enjoy my visit to The Bitter Bar for happy hour, and received great service from Hope at the front desk when I had questions come up.

2/10 Poor

Avoid this place.

I ended up not staying here. When I went to check-in after the 3pm time frame, I was not welcomed. The front desk staff couldn’t get the computers to work and had no alternative way to check me in. I was encouraged to come back later! When? I contacted Hotels and the agent I talked with was unable to get anyone to answer the phone.

10/10 Exceptional

Service at this hotel was great. Was welcomed in with a friendly smile every time I walked in. My room was quiet, clean. Bathroom was nice and clean, mini bar was stocked with some good stuff, and I woke up to great tasting coffee every morning in the lobby. For $100 a night, you’d be hard pressed to find a nicer hotel anywhere in this country.
Paul, 3-night trip

Gorgeous

Hotel is beautifully decorated and the person who checked us in was friendly and welcoming. The room was also really nicely decorated and very big considering it wasn’t too expensive. Bed comfy and fridge fully stocked with goodies. Way nicer than expected. Street parking was very easy to find within a block of the hotel but it is paid during the usual hours. Would stay here again for sure

4/10 Fair

No stay over cleaning offered

Stay over cleaning service not offered at all. I had to venture out and personally ask, which felt uncomfortable. Staff was nice enough though… although some of the listed amenities and perks were not offered. That’s on the service. Otherwise, the area isn’t as favorable BUT public transit is pretty central around the area.
2-night trip

6/10 Good

My first stay at this hotel was lovely. Make sure you request a room on the interior of the building if you want to sleep. This historic hotel has thin windows. During this stay, I was street-side, listening to cars passing, trucks unloading at all hours, and lots of riff raff throughout the night.
