If you're planning a bit of sightseeing head to Parque Central— just one of the monuments located 26.3 mi (42.3 km) from the center of Managua. You could also start your cultural experience by heading over to the cathedral in the area.
Between the shores of Lake Nicaragua and the shadow of Mombacho volcano, this colonial gem offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Climb La Merced Church's bell tower for views that explain why poets wax lyrical about this place. The Parque Central buzzes with local life around a magnificent cathedral that has witnessed centuries of history. Take a boat through Las Isletas, hundreds of tiny islands formed by ancient volcanic eruptions. Calle La Calzada transforms nightly into a pedestrian festival of outdoor dining and music. Don't miss Mansion de Chocolate Museum, where you'll learn the sweet history of Nicaraguan cacao while contemplating a dip in nearby Laguna de Apoyo's crystal waters.

Hotel Casa del Consulado
10/10 Excellent
"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally attentive and always willing to help with anything I needed. The food was delicious, although breakfast options were somewhat limited. However, there are plenty of great places nearby where you can enjoy a tasty meal. The hotel was spotless and felt very safe. Best of all, it’s centrally located within walking distance of everything. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again."
"This property is in perfect condition. Room is spacious. Bathroom is spacious. Kitchen is big and accessible by the guests. Staff is very helpful. …. It would be perfect if it were just a bit closer to the city center and to shopping. I stayed here for 2 nights initially and extended a day. I feel relaxed here. "
"The hotel is just in front of Calle Calzada, very convenient location. The hotel staff are very friendly and courteous. We were offered a welcome cocktail of cold drinks of ginger with Jamaican rum - very refreshing.
The breakfast is superb with cold juice and fresh fruits!
Highly recommended place to stay when visiting Granada!"
"Staff is sooooo friendly and helpful. Location is great. Breakfast is great. Parking is available a couple blocks away at the Estacion de Barberos smallfee. "
"Our room (Room 1) was clean and generously spacious with a private outside seating area. The bed was comfortable and the air con worked well. The communal areas of the property are very lovely and well-kept. The lady who cooked breakfast was very pleasant. We enjoyed our stay here and would happily recommend. However, a couple of things to note - only by chance did we ask if it was ok to leave the car on the street overnight and we were strongly advised not to. It would have been far more helpful to have been given that advice at check-in with instructions where to park. The other point - well in advance of our stay I had booked a tour through the hotel for 4.10 on our date of arrival and the tour had been confirmed by the hotel. However, our guide did not show and we were told he was coming - in 5 to 10 mins, maybe 15 and we lost faith anyone would come so we then had to make other arrangements but no apology was offered."
