We loved Cork. It felt very Irish and charming- great pubs, great food and great shopping. St. Fin Bars is a beautiful old church and Cork is a short bus ride to Kinsale and Cobh - 2 very visit worthy towns.

If you want to eat in cork on the weekend , be sure to get reservations. Many of the restaurants were booked. We couldn't get a table for 2 until 8:30 and it was so busy we didn't eat until 9:30. Lots of bars were very lively and busy too.

Cork is rather small, but with big city conveniences and sadly problems. The walk down to the centre was a bit sketchy and no taxis were available. There are cheap eateries during the day aimed at nearby uni students.

The people of Cork were wonderfully welcoming. A gentleman named Henry saw us looking at our map for a vegan place (which was one of the only ones in Cork) and walked us a mile out of his way so that we would be able to find it.

Cork is clearly a city full of history with lots to explore, however I found that there is a general lack of care of their city by the residents. From trash all over the streets (especially cigarette butts) to a general sense of worn-down buildings.
"We love the early for its comfort and attention to detail. We were upgraded upon arrival and our floor had with himself made coffee station and snacks."
"A terrific hotel with friendly staff throughout. A good restaurant. Room spacious and very comfortable. Be aware that the hotel is in a business park with no amenities nearby. Shuttle bus to the airport available and Cork city nearby "
