"This is a beautiful and traditional location with stunning views and tranquil gardens. The house is basic, rustic but very authentic. Into town is easy by Grab or Gojek taxi app. Traditional breakfast comes as extra. I could stay here forever"

"We were a bit disappointed on arrival - our room wasn't ready, and despite lots of staff being around, nobody helped us with our bags down the steps, or provided us any information about the hotel, restaurant, wifi, etc.
The room was beautiful, though, and our small private pool was clean.
We were disappointed by the breakfast offering - lots of open containers with flies landing on the food meant there wasn't really anything we felt comfortable eating."

"Still under construction so there may be some minor disruptions here and there. But the staff’s hospitality and care more than makes up for it. The rooms are new and the beds are very comfortable also. It’s the perfect area to be if you’re visiting Borobudur and north area and also only 25 mins to Malioboro. Will return to this hotel if I’m back to Jogja!"

"The staff was great! Very helpful, courteous and respectful. They went above and beyond to assist me in my venture to visiting the temples. By even arranging a scooter for me. The food at restaurant (Sojo) was fabulous as well as the service. I feel Blessed I got to experience the culture and surrounding nature. Highly recomend this hotel. I would stay again if back. Thanks"

"On first impression the hotel room wasn't that clean, the carpets had a lot of stains, doors/cupboards grubby.
However overall the room was huge (like a suite) and it was very easy to relax at the end of the day. The decor is very unique and interesting if you like old royal style, a bit like a castle.
The staff were friendly and helpful. No mosquitos whatsoever in the hotel anywhere which is a plus!
Breakfast plain and simple and suits a hotel this size.

"Stayed here for a few nights and liked the room overall. Staff were also very nice! However, there were a few weird / uncomfortable things about the hotel:
- one of the ceiling/wall lights in the room literally had no switch to turn it off and I had to call the technician to come and disable it
- there was no conditioner but there was shampoo (expected better from a 4-star)
- restaurant was pricey and food was not good at all
- location was kind of far from central Yogyakarta activities and...

Villa Borobudur Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Villa Borobudur is set in a stunning location, nestled in beautiful green forests with views of distant volcanos. It had 2 large pools with infinity edges, overlooking the scenery. Staff at Villa Borobudur couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome. We were greeted with warmth every time we had any interactions. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed trying out batik while my husband and son had great fun at a cookery class. We also enjoyed a hike and I would thoroughly recommend a guided cycle trip through the local village and market. "
"The most outstanding aspect of my stay was the amazing staff—everyone was incredibly polite, helpful, and accommodating. They really made the experience feel welcoming. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable. The location was also excellent, with easy access to everything I needed. Highly recommend!"
"Our stay has been fantastic, we couldn’t have expected any better! The breakfast buffet was excellent, the amenities & area were spacious and clean, but the hospitality of every staff was beyond! Would definitely come back when we have the chance :)"
"The staff are friendly and helpful. Overall excellent customer service and they speak English well.
The location is central to many places and is walkable to many of the tourist areas. "
"Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Breakfast was good and the hotel was within walking distance to both attractions and shopping."
The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta - Handwritten Collection
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful historic hotel with incredible service. The pool was refreshing, the food was very good. We also received excellent advice from the travel agent on site and had a marvelous 3 days with a guide. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in the area."
"This is a stunning property with private villas in a gorgeous setting within view of the iconic heritage monument , Borobudur which is also only 10 min. Upon checking in you are invited to a WhatsApp group that allows you to make any requests including shuttle service and bookings of excursions. Upon landing I had to make dinner reservations for 40 people the next day and they didn’t even bat an eye. They simply provided me with options and the booking was made within the hour. The villas are large, and beautiful and as my sister mentioned provided one of the best sleep iour entire journey. Indulge yourself and stay here"
"The place is beautiful and has an incredible potential. The only down side was the dirty toilet and smell upon arrival. With a clean bathroom, this place would be a 5/5. "
"A very beautiful hotel with a lot of beautiful features and traditional items, good service, good foods and perfect locations. Definitely will come back. The front desks were very helpful, especially Ms. Claudia and her friends / crew. thank you."
"The bed was super comfy, the pool was nice and the location was perfect, near many restaurants and coffee shops. The staff were very kind and the breakfast had lots of options! "
"Staying 2 night at this hotel, I wouldn't expected much really, what I expected was comfortable sleep, but that seem impossible, because right cross of the road, there were a cafe or a club that play music very loud until 2am. If you like quiet place avoid to stay in this hotel. I know it's not the hotel faults, but I wouldn't recommended for people's who like to stay in the quiet environment. But for people's who like hang out, and partying, there are few cafe and bars around the area, some with live entertainment. The room was basic, it appears look like use to be an office, according the room door. The swimming pool look good, but unfortunately I didn't have have time to try it. And there was no breakfast facility or tea or coffee making."
"Located a 20mins (min) drive from the main shopping area and attractions.
Very clean and comfortable for a family of 4. Reception staff very helpful. Restaurant wait staff very slow and don't clear tables"
