Sabor Tico... delicious, authentic. Souvenir shop in town has a bird viewing area...saw toucans, blue jays, parrots... We booked Zipline and Skybridge with Treetopia. Felt very safe and had a blast. El Tigre hike was challenging but our favorite.

Excellent
The town is lovely and there are lots of great outdoor activities, special climate and geography. People are very friendly. If you are driving to Monteverde, be prepared for many gravel roads where having an SUV 4x4 would be best.

The best zip lining experience in the area was right on sight, we went to the Monteverde cloud Forest reserve but didn't see anything, maybe we should have booked a guide

Cloud Forest Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"This is a beautiful property right next to hiking trails and immediately adjacent to Canopy tours. The views from the restaurant are spectacular and the service is exceptional "
"The property was beautiful. The hot springs and pool area were large enough that you didn’t feel like you were all over other people. The cleaning staff made cute towel animals everyday. The restaurant on site was fairly priced and the breakfast was amazing with tons of options. So many things close by and on site to keep the whole family busy-We loved it here! "
"We really enjoyed our stay at Sibu. It is a short (but steep) walk into Santa Elena. The hotel itself is very nice and modern and offers a great made-to-order breakfast. Service is also excellent "
The Royal Corin Thermal Water Spa & Resort - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Corin from July 14th through the 17th. In my opinion it’s small to be a resort but the place is beautiful. The staff was very attentive to our every need. I love the fact that it was not crowded. July is considered the rainy season and the off season. That’s probably why it wasn’t crowded. If you don’t like crowds consider going during the month of July. The weather was perfect, maybe in the low 80s during the day. We experience a shower or 2 but it didn’t last long. I would definitely recommend this place. "
"The resort staff knew us by name and were genuinely concerned with our happiness. The food was fresh and delicious from the buffet breakfast to the poolside dining or the sushi restaurant. The beds were comfortable and rooms nice and dark as well as quiet for a good night’s rest after an active day exploring the grounds. We had a blast river tubing and sitting in the springs as well as having smores by the firepit. The wildlife animal tour was incredible. Will definitely return."
"We had a wonderful stay at Lomas del Volcán! The service was warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and the entire property felt like a peaceful retreat nestled in the jungle. The rooms are private, spacious, and offer stunning views of Arenal Volcano.
One of our favorite features was the heated pool — it was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. We also loved how close the hotel is to town. It was just a short drive to great restaurants, shops, and activities, yet still felt secluded and quiet.
From the beautiful grounds to the attentive staff and excellent amenities, Lomas del Volcán exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient stay near Arenal!"
