"The room was very quiet and like new with extremely comfortable beds. It was exactly what we needed for one night before our flight from Fukuoka, less than one hour away."

"Beautiful spot inside and out. Super easy to check in and out. Very clean and pretty close to the main hub by car but a bit scary to drive down at night so bring enough food. I can only imagine when the trees outside blossom and how beautiful that would look. I guess I need to come back ๐ "

"The Innkeeper was very nice and friendly, everything is kept clean and in original antique like condition. Felt like time went back for 100 years. I would like to go back there again for many times."

"Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to travel to this special ryokan. Because it is costly, we wanted to get there as close to check in as possible and enjoy all the amenities. The hot springs were absolutely beautiful and lush. The half board experience is not one to miss, and we loved our detached traditional Japanese room. Unfortunately communication for the shuttle pick up from the station fell off as we got closer to arrival and we were picked up late. We also were disappointed that...

"Quiet. Staff was friendly and let me check out late.
Fairly clean. Questionable stains on the walls and on the floor but at least the bed was clean.
Bath was good.
Not too many places to eat in the area. Hakurakuten nearby had good food and the staff was nice. "

"Such a beautiful, tranquil ryokan right on the river. Close walking distance to the train/bus station. The staff were kind, polite, and accommodating. Would stay again!"

"Excellent service, staff is very knowledgeable for restaurants and things to do nearby. We send email to ask about tea experience and fruit picking experience and they reply with detailed information. Room is spotless and there is self-service laundry and free coffee and a little pantry where you can sort yourself breakfast with the shop next to the hotel where they sell local products every day. Highly recommend!"
"This is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in while in Japan. Every floor has a different layout and the rooms themselves are like small houses. Everything is spacious, and ease to get around. Plus, the onsens are AMAZING. I almost fell asleep while using one. Most of the staff doesn't speak English, so either practice your Japanese or bring a translator with you. "
"I stayed in a river view room. The view from the room was breathtaking. But the best thing about this hotel was the free massage chair. I almost fell asleep."

"Lovely quiet spot away from the crowds in Yufuin, excellent food and fantastic service. The hotel is older but has been maintained. The rooms are simple but clean, large and comfortable. As all rooms in Japan there is limited places to put suitcases and unpack fully. Lobby and restaurant are beautiful and very modern.
Highly recommended. "
"I recently had a wonderful stay there!
The accommodation was beautiful, and I truly appreciated the thoughtful touch of having breakfast provided each day. The staff was attentive and checked in regularly to ensure everything was going smoothly, making my vacation incredibly relaxing and enjoyable.
One minor suggestion: the listing did not clearly specify the different accommodation options available. We chose a 2/F unit, which, while lovely, was less convenient for the elderly members of our group. Highlighting such details in the selection process would be beneficial.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!"
"This is basically โWhat you paid is what you getโ. Hotel location is good, room is clean, staff are nice. It is old building, old furniture and bath room, heating system worked ok, but very old system. Old carpet. Typical Japanese business hotel size which is tiny. Free small breakfast (very basic) was a nice touch. Everyone there was sincere and I needed to stay one night in budget hotel by myself. "
"The owner is very nice and friendly. Quiet location. There are many shops and restaurants if you have a car.
Each room has air cond, but the house itself is cold in winter and I hesitated to take a shower. Instead we went to nearby onsen to get warm."

"The lobby area looks grand but the furniture in the room is so old! The bedsheet and pillow covers are yellowish, look like no one used or being moved for a very long time! The staff are nice though"
"Perfect place to stay if you want to relax and recharge. Buildings are beautiful, staff were welcoming and kind, and there's so much to explore in the area. Would recommend for anyone who wants a unique stay experience."
