"We stayed in the Geilo Hotel, a short walk from the train station, before continuing on to Bergen. It's very cute inside! Our room had a nice view of the mountains, and it was easy to walk to the lake for a hike. The only weird part was that toilet was oddly placed in the bathroom. We stayed in various camping sites and apartments during on journey and this was easily the worst but not even close to being the cheapest. We paid 70€ for one night in a simple cabin with 2 beds. Can not recommend to anyone."

"Good location in the centre of Geilo. We had a two bed apartment with a lounge area, kitchen and bathroom. Very comfy bed.
Downsides, you can't specify where in the block you want to be. Although we booked over 6 months ago, hoping for a view, we found ourselves on the ground floor looking over some sheds/shacks with very little view of the spectacular scenery.
Also, obtaining the key relies on a mobile phone with access to the Internet as there is no person at a reception on site to help. "

"This is a ski resort,but we were there in June. Nice rooms,excellent restaurant and very easy parking! Not much around the hotel itself,but it had a lot of activities. Pretty much halfway between Bergen and Oslo if you are driving. "

"Waaay too big for the facilities and services it offers. Has only two restaurants to cater the entire huge hotel so be prepared to wait. Gym/spa is packed and the lockers thus often quite dirty. The room service does not exist and you have to ask for towels explicitly which is odd for a spa. Equally odd is that there are no bathrobes or slippers offered. The service people are kind but very very young and inexperienced - usually just standing still. The "better spa" costs extra - the public pool is full of kids. Oh the kids - this place is filled with kids running and screaming - filled I tell you!
It has literally everything you need, even if in poor quality, so it is good for families. Not for couples.
The slopes are good though! It's easy to get around although the lifts can get crowded."
