I grew up in Portsmouth in the 1960s-1970s. A lot has changed (for the better) while keeping the charm of the its history and that smaller-town feel. I found the downtown area remarkably clean, safe, & comfortable both at night and during the day.

Portsmouth is a small city but there were tons of shops and dining options close by. It was very picturesque and felt safe and walkable. We had never been there before, and it really made an impression. Super happy we stayed there.

Enjoyed going on the Isle of Shoals boat tour to Star Island and would recommend but probably skip the walking tour and just explore on your own. Beautiful location.

I had lived in Portsmouth for over 20 years and moved away 10 years ago. Portsmouth Is an unbelievably artistic and creative community but over the past 15 years, it has gotten a little bit to over developed and commercial. But still Fantastic.
"Front desk customer service was excellent. Also gentleman who served us breakfast was very friendly. Food was great.
Loved the bed. And had a decent workout "
