"Cozy cottage. Very clean and everything you need is there. Nice kitchen and fireplace. Lots of room and 3 bathrooms as well. Reasonably close to the ski mountains. "

"The Ira Allen House is an authetic traditional vintage house. It is clean & the rooms are comfortable. The owner, Mike is a great host & the breakfast is very good. If your looking for a high end hotel with all the bells & whistles, this is not your place. If you want a historic home rich in history and authentic Vermont, then you will enjoy your stay. We enjoyed our experience!"

"South Shire is a beautiful place filled with history and character. The staff were wonderful; kind and attentive. They were welcoming to us and our pup throughout the stay. We were very happy with the quality of the mattress and linens as well as the ac being nice and cold on a very hot day (not always things you find in an older bed and breakfast.) We would absolutely stay here again. "

Kitchen counter had multiple burn marks and some sticky substance, corner held down with duct tape. Screen door off tracks, laying against wall. Wife was stung by insect in the unit, had to go to hospital. We moved out after only 3 hours, and literally slept in the car rather than go back. Owner uncaring, rude and greedy. "Stayed at this property everything was as stated but then property manager made me pay cleaning fee and deposit through cash app , Then later Said I didn’t pay for property when I clearly did had receipts then after confronted by Expedia , He lies say I left the house a mess and that displaced half the water out of the hot tub that I didn’t use at all and didn’t do the dishes which I did , not to mentions I paid a cleaning fee either way . So this unprofessional listing gets keep the deposit...

"The setting is beautiful. The staff were amazing - kind and attentive. Our room was very dated and in need of updating including the bathrooms. The furniture in the room was an odd collection of pieces that could have come from a yard sale. It was not up to the standard we expected given the cost of the room and the overall resort vibe. "
