Quaint Route 66 Town. See Hotel El Rancho lobby for a nostalgic stroll through the Golden Age of Movie Making paraphernalia. Hang out at the bar for a chat with the friendly bartender. Enjoy libations & chips & trio salsas. But lotta Train noise.

Gallup, NM may be somewhat faded from its colorful, glorious heyday as a popular Hollywood film destination due to its amazing scenery, but it remains a great destination on the Iconic RT 66 !!

Fun to walk along historic Route 66 and look in the shops at Indian jewelry. I wouldn't have gone by myself at night, but in the daytime felt safe

Interesting place. Ate at Jerry's Grill which was mexican food and it was the best we have ever had. Small but they moved people thru pretty quickly.

Gallup is making a tremendous effort to correct its image. They are making great progress.
"The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was very good, plenty of options for a quick breakfast. The staff was very nice during check in and on top of the breakfast rush not letting anything run out. We also asked flr an extended checkout for no additional fee. We enjoyed our stay here!"
"One issue Expedia list this property as having semi, bus and RV parking. It does not. I was able to park my rig across 5 spots because the excellent young lady at the front desk took the time to go look at the parking lot and moved her personal vehicle so I had room to park on property, with in the fence. The other option was on the street or a dirt lot a block away.
The posting need updates on the parking and the front desk lady, I regret not getting her name) that was working on the evening of 24 July at 9pm needs a raise or a bonus"
"The beds were very comfortable. The room was very clean. The owners are very sweet. Breakfast was delicious and we really appreciate the great customer service."
