Hampton By Hilton Guanacaste Airport
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful hotel and an amazing pool. Our room was perfect. We really enjoyed the breakfast, pool and gym. Unfortunately, there is not much to do in this area. Good news : Starbucks, subway, PFK are next to the hotel."
"I LOVE this location!! Great for travel with kids. Love the 3 bed room option. I did not see any bugs nor get any mosquito bites while here. I did use repellent daily. Hotel is in a great location for walking!!! So many options to check out near by."
"The grounds are beautiful, the staff is friendly, it is safe, and within walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants. I am so grateful we stayed here, it was the perfect boutique hotel. "
"The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They made us feel like we were right at home.
I would recommend renting a car at the airport so you are able to explore the town, hit the local shops and enjoy the various restaurants. "
"Very convenient with lots of activities to do. Super safe and clean. Also close to national park and La Leona (by car). Included activities are cool. Tubing is the best everdone anywhere! (Not included but worth it)
A bit lack of intimacy as neighbours are very close and you can ear them talk in their room. Food is good but a bit expensive and no other choice around."
Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort, Costa Rica, by Hyatt
10/10 Excellent
"This resort was worth every penny. It is absolutely gorgeous. Service is excellent. Beautiful and lush during the rainy season but rains very little on the coast. We used the snorkeling equipment provided there. Booked a surf lesson, cooking class, monkey watching tour, and bioluminescence tour in outrigger canoes. The whole peninsula is very safe with gate guards at the entrance to the peninsula as well as the resort itself. Complimentary shuttles to the nature center, the beach club, and to the restaurants at the other resorts on The peninsula (we had two excellent dinners at the Andaz, one at the dive bar at the neighboring marina, and one at the Prieto beach club with stunning sunset views. My husband and I as well as our two teens all loved it. Would return here in a heartbeat. "
"The highlight of staying at this hotel is the beautiful gardens which surround the villas and pool. From our balcony we enjoyed looking out onto flowering tropical plants, palms and listening to the birds sing.
The photos in the ad for this hotel are exactly what you can expect. The villas enjoy the use of a small pool surrounded by beautiful gardens. It is a wonderful space to relax. I'm addition to having beautiful grounds the hotel is only a short five minute walk from the beach.
The villa itself was comfortable and very clean. It had a studio layout with a small couch and table and chairs. The balcony was a highlight for us and we spent time there in the morning and evening when it wasn't too hot.
The stairway up to the villa entrance could be cleaned. I don't think it was swept during our stay and dirt and leaves accumulated over time. At night ants could be seen crawling along the ceiling in the room which was unsettling, but they never bothered us. We learned during our trip to accept the presence of insects in our accommodations as part of life in a tropical climate.
Breakfast was included every morning at the restaurant and it was quite tasty. There were a few different options to choose from and each was accompanied with a plate of fruit and a glass of juice. We did eat dinner at the restaurant on our first day and the food was good but overpriced for what it was.
We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend."
"Unique “treehouse” experience. Amazing forest/mountains view. It was quite of a delight to stay in such of eco-friendly environment. Great food at the Hotel Taru restaurant. Excellent customer service. Kudos to the entire staff but specially to Carlos Guzman for going above and beyond. Thank you. Pura Vida!"
"We loved our stay in Las Catalinas! We stayed in a beautiful three-level, two-bedroom home with incredible views—sunsets from the balcony were unforgettable. The town itself is incredibly charming and totally walkable. Everything is thoughtfully designed, and it feels both upscale and relaxed. The only thing missing was a great boulangerie—while there is one in town, it was often nearly empty. A full boulangerie with more variety would be the perfect addition to this otherwise fantastic community.
"
"Big, clean rooms. Excellent breakfast and dinner menu.
Friendly staff.
It is a 2 minute walk up beach, this beach is quite rustic and a few more minutes to walk to more sandy beach.
My only con was the outdoor grounds could have used a power wash and the pool sitting area was dirty and slimy. "
