"I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but was very pleasantly surprised with my 2 night stay. Parking was plentiful and fairly reasonable for Amsterdam. Check in was quick and easy, though they do make you aware of the very strict no smoking policy which some people seem to have been caught by. The room was spotless and quite modern. Bathroom was clean and the AC worked very well. I had 2 of the best nights sleep here out of my 2 week trip. I did find the breakfast very expensive, but just walked to McDonald's literally next door instead. The elevator also tends to jam up around 11 am as everyone tried to leave at the same time. Getting into the city was a breeze on the Number 1 train line. 20 minites walk if you believe Google, or 3 minutes if you are willing to walk across the road instead of follow the bike paths. I will add a photo of the hotel from the train station to show how close it is. We got the GVB daily pass for $9.50 using the GVB app. This made travelling quick, easy and affordable as the daily pass is a virtual ticket that can be used for 24 hours from time of activation and is good for GVB buses, trains, trams and even the night bus. If you bus the 2 or 3 day pass, it works out even cheaper. Overall a great stay and would stay here again. "

"We absolutely loved our stay at WestCord Art Hotel. We found it very easy to find with a short bus ride from Centraal Station. The location is ideal, with Westerpark a short walk away. The free use of the swimming pool was such a bonus we had so much fun relaxing by the pool and cooling off. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the area was immaculate, the rooms were spacious and bright, with blackout curtains which helped to have a restful morning. The fridge and coffee machine in the room were much needed additions and allowed us to save money by taking a coffee out with us and storing food to make packed lunches for the day. We had no problems with the WiFi and the TV in the room had channels with English speaking shows. The breakfast was superb, everything cooked to perfection and stock was frequently replenished. The dining area was clean and bright. The beds were so comfy, especially the pillows. I had asked for an extra pillow prior to check-in and this was ready and waiting. I feel this hotel goes above and beyond to make your stay relaxing, by providing everything you could possibly need and with very friendly staff. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else for all future visits!! "

"I could not fault this hotel, the location was excellent, room was lovely and clean, we were given a free room upgrade, it was quiet and the bed was very comfortable so got a good nights sleep. We landed early in Amsterdam, we went straight to the hotel with the intention of leaving our cases but the room was actually ready so we were able to check in several hours early, we were also able to get a late check out as my boyfriend needed a quiet area to do a job interview on teams! The staff were all friendly and couldn’t have been more accommodating, they had also provided us with sweets in the room for my boyfriend’s birthday. This is possibly the best hotel stay I’ve had and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone! "

"The hotel is 5 minute walk to the train which gets you to the Amsterdam Centraal station in 6 minutes. The hotel and rooms are modern with comfortable beds, although they are not very spacious. We opted for the buffet breakfast which was excellent. The staff was very nice and courteous. We would stay there again."

"The Grand Hotel Amrâth is an incredible historic hotel. It is very centrally located near Central train station. My room on the 3rd floor had high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the canal. Absolutely gorgeous! They have many original museum pieces from when they were a shipping house in the early 1900’s. I truly enjoyed my stay. I would say my only complaint would be that they did not have a ramp to bring luggage up the front stairs. The bellman does help if he is waiting in front but if not, pretty challenging. Have some great videos of my room but unfortunately won’t upload on the site "

"A great hotel for a short break within easy walking distance of museums, cafe's, shops and restaurants, as well as parks, canals and transportation. Very ‘cosy’ rooms (small) with comfortable beds and decent clean amenities including a fridge, hairdryer, safe, tv and kettle. Nice view over the courtyard outside seating area. We didn’t eat there, but had a few drinks in the bar which was lovely. Staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout our stay."
