Well located student digs

Stayed for 1 night after going to BST Hyde Park. Location was ideal, quiet square and close to Hyde Park. Room was very basic. Student digs. Breakfast was located 5 mins walk from room and had a good choice.

1 night stay solo traveller

Quick check in . Room was as expected basic but clean there was an empty tube left in the shower but didn’t bother me .i thought bed wasn’t going to be comfy when I first sat on it but had a great night sleep. Shower was brilliant , towels perfect tea and coffee facilities. Choice of breakfasts was great No complaints

4/10 Fair

Good location but hostle feels

Was mold in the shower, sanity towels in the bin from a previous guest I assume. You have to book parking 7 days before visit! No information on that from hotels.com
Adam, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Not a hotel

This is uni accommodation. I booked this as it was advertised as a hotel. When we arrived we were shocked that it was uni accommodation and this is not made known on the listing. No amenities - not even a hair dryer or mini fridge to store food/drinks?? How they can charge over £150 a night is beyond me. This is not a hotel!

Steer clear!

Gave me a key at reception. 10 minute walk to the room to find a woman in my bed. Had to walk back to be dealt with by a very rude receptionist.

This isn’t an hotel by my definition. Student accommodation that’s hired out to the public out of season Small uncomfortable double bed. Cord carpet floor tiles. No as advertised

Uni halls

I wish it had been clear this is student accommodation, initially though I had been scammed as couldn’t find princes gardens. Only went into the uni halls because of the photo that I had to check. The was a huge line to check in. Staff were very friendly. The room was very very odd, bed in the middle of the room, w Bathroom appeared to have been, except the floor which had multiple pubic hairs scattered around.

Towels were not changed two times during my 5-day stay. No refrigerator and no air conditioning in a room.

Shocking

Shocking from arriving to leaving 2 days later, took over 30 minutes stood in queues for room key, once got key opened room door to a smell, didnt sleep in bed had to sleep on top of quilt, shower not been cleaned

Convenient position

Good value summer accommodation in Imperial College student halls. Clean white bedding and towels. Very basic room, no tv or fridge. Carpeted floor. No air conditioning in a room. The room was really hot in the heat. Maybe better in spring or autumn. Bathroom is quite small and there is no hand shower. Convenient for Hyde Park, Museums and Royal Albert Hall . Secure. Useful small shop on site.

We arrived at the hotel to find the room door didn’t lock. After informing reception, they reset the system but the lock only worked intermittently. We were moved to another room and the staff kindly helped us to test the lock on the door to reassure us, which we appreciated. However, we discovered the flush didn’t work on the toilet but this was fixed within a few hours and staff were very helpful. The bathroom tap made a horrible screeching noise when used. No shower curtain was provided. The light in the ceiling persistently flashed when the lights were on. There was also no hot water to the shower when we tried to use it in the morning. Although staff were very good, the hotel did not appear as advertised and we would not consider it good value for money at £195 for the night.

always great
Nadine, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Superb location, for Albert Hell, museums etc. Accommodation is a student hall (for Imperial College) out of term - therefore rather spartan (no TV) but perfectly functional, clean, and relatively cheap for this part of London. Useful bar and small shop on site.
Stephen, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

An excellent, clean, quiet stay - perfect for museums, Royal Albert Hall & Hyde Park. We’ll certainly book again.

Basic accommodation in great location

Great basic accommodation, perfect location for hyde park. Very reeaonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. Student accommodation so nothing fancy but had what we needed for a one night stay. Mattress was very firm. Nice setting with garden area in the square, handy shop downstairs.

A stay that suits all basic needs

The room was ideal for my needs as I stayed two nights near Hyde Park. The only service I received (as I did not pay for breakfast while staying) was upon arrival to acquire my room key (electronic keycard). The woman behind the counter was very polite explaining where I was situated for my stay and gave me a small map to assist me. The room itself is very basic. One bed, bathroom with a toilet, sink and standing shower. Hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and two towels (hand towel and bath towel) all supplied. I also had a kettle with tea and coffee sachets plus all the usual extras. There was also a fan in the room, possibly due to the heatwave we were experiencing at the time, which was appreciated. No TV so bring your own entertainment as the building has free Wi-Fi. The room was in perfect condition. Everything looked clean and felt new. The room I stayed in was on the third floor and faced the park of the establishment. This meant for the most part noise levels were very low and I couldn't hear traffic. Occasionally there was some noise from residents of nearby housing but this wouldn't have been an issue most of the year as I only hear them due to keeping a window open for ventilation because of the heat. Location has plenty of activities to do near by such as the Natural History and Science Museums. Hyde Park is 5 minutes away. It is also very close to one of South Kensington Station's exits so the London Underground can take you anywhere further you need to do.
2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The staff was very helpful and the accommodations were hotel-like despite it being a residence hall. The fire alarms truly do go off a lot! At least 3 times during my 7 day stay.

ideal for show at royal albert hall .
Paul, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

For the price, the room was great. Comfortable, clean and everything you need. Only problem was our toiletries were taken when the cleaning staff came round in the day.
Claire, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

it's a dorm room, but quiet and central

Pros: - good location - quiet - functional layout Cons: - long line to check in - uncomfortable mattress - little ventilation - deep grime/wear (e.g. moldy shower grout)
