Great find, extensive car park, very comfortable room with everything you need and a lovely touch was a decanter with a little sherry in for a pre dinner tipple. Food was good with an extensive menu and friendly helpful staff. All in all a great 2 night stay in this lovely hotel. Ideally situated for Eden project visit, would definitely recommend.

Fabulous place to stay! So many little touches that make a big difference for a relaxing, comfortable stopover and such good value for money. My room was clean with lovely bedding and decor. The Continental breakfast included in the room rate was delicious and included local produce and there was an option to upgrade to a nice selection of cooked breakfasts. Will definitely stay here again.

I hope to return sometime!

I had a lovely 2-night stay at The Crown. The room, a double in a 12th century out building, was spacious and spotless.

Absolutely charming Inn. The owners are extremely nice and very competent. Will gladly stay here in the future. Cottage room #2 had such cozy beds! Excellent dining. Be sure to check out Emily Woodard’s art on the walls. Wonderful experience. Thank you Crown Inn!

We stayed at the Crown Inn for two nights, the room was very cleaned and we loved the was was furnish and decorated very cosy and welcoming. Good variety of options for the continental Breakfast and very good prices for the cooked one. We also dine there both nights as we enjoyed the first night. The owners are very nice and friendly! We will definitely consider to stay there when visiting Cornwall in future!

Superb

Our stay was amazing. The quality of the room and the facilities is excellent and the host could not do more for us even offering advice on walks in the local area. The food in the restaurant is first class with an abundance of locally sourced produce on the menu. I could not recommend this highly enough.

The Crown is extremely clean, friendly and welcoming. Room 9 (family room) was huge and very comfortable. The extra touches like sherry, biscuits and toiletries were very nice. The pub was very busy but the food was tasty and excellent quality. See you again

A delightful inn, full of charm and beautifully finished. All the staff and the locals were very friendly. Everything was spotless, the room was comfortably finished and cosy. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and both had the most sublime steaks. We ate again in the morning and opted for breakfasts which were equally delicious. All in all, couldn't fault it!

Don’t bother with Premier Lodges - just stay here

Great find - been before a while back will make this my default place to stay when I’m in the area Great food - lovely people This was cheaper than any of the “premier lodges” and much more enjoyable Great quiet location but still near enough to everything Best poached eggs in the area !! 😀👍 Continental breakfast is free but a subsidised charge for cooked breakfast- so my eggs plus extra toast was only £3 !

Business Trip to The Crown

Probably one of the best quaint B&B/Pub accommodation I’ve stayed at. The room was very cosy with a personal touch of homemade shortbread and I think it was local wine or sherry. Very comfortable after a lot of driving. The food in the pub was fantastic, real hearty stuff especially on a cold evening. The beers went down well and the locals really friendly. Tim and his team doing a tremendous job and this place can’t be recommended enough. Will 100% stay there again next time I’m in the area. Don’t miss out, get booking 👍👍

Warm welcome. Room perfect. Better than expected. Nice touch of shortbread biscuits made by chef on site. Very morish. Dinner very good, a little too big. Bed comfy and warm. Nice continental breakfast. Well worth a stay. I shall be back.

Gorgeous inn.

Gorgeous old pub in a village setting. Lots of parking. The accommodation buildings are set apart from the pub, and our room was beautiful. Breakfast is served in the pub restaurant- but the landlord will deliver a jug of milk in the morning for use with the tea making facilities. Just make sure the sign outside your door is set to “yes please” for milk! No plastic in sight. We ate at the pub in the evening and the food and service were very good too.

Perfect place for a break

Excellent B&B attached to a lovely pub. We stayed for two nights & were met by a friendly staff member who welcomed us & showed us to our room. She gave us some great tips re things to see & do in the local area. Our room was perfect for us, 2 adults & 2 teenagers. Lovely new walk in shower in a newly renovated bathroom. The tipple of sherry was a nice touch. We ate in the restaurant on the first night & the food & service was first class. Delicious, locally sourced ingredients, cooked to perfection & reasonably priced as well. Breakfast was a help yourself style continental, which was well stocked with plenty of choice of fresh locally sourced ham, cheese & eggs. They offered a very cheap full English breakfast if you’d like as well as the continental. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights here, & would definitely recommend & will be returning soon!

A taste of history in a modern setting

The hotel is a 12 century building with the history of the area in our room. I was not sure if our room was originally the Blacksmith/Butchers in days gone by. However, It was the first place 'ever' that we have been to that had a certificate to show the bed had been hygienically cleaned. Fresh milk was provided outside our door each morning in a glass bottle and if more was needed one only had to ask. It was lovely to have Cornish tea, coffee herbal tea and water in our room promoting Cornwall. We were provided with home cooked biscuits refreshed when needed. What did surprise us the most was to see a decanter with sherry and glasses free for our use. The bed was very comfy with white sheets and a feather duvet. In the bathroom were lovely white towels, and a few personal items for ladies. Breakfast was continental (home cooked ham) with a choice of a cooked breakfast for an extra cost. My husband took advantage of this both mornings and found this very filling. After breakfast we took a short walk across the road to see the old church. We chose to eat there each evening, which was reasonable priced and once again very satisfying. Because we had pre booked the table they were set up very warmly with candles away from the general public area. Serviettes were made of cotton not disposable. The outside garden area was very welcoming and busy with locals and visitors giving a loved atmosphere of wanting to be there. The staff were all very polite and pleasant.

Great place to stay! Only complaint was that noise from the room above was quite loud, nothing intentional, just the toilet flushing, taps on, walking about. Would definitely stay here again though.
