Maybe I got the wrong impression in the first place, I thought this was supposed to be an international brand, but the resort felt very mainland Chinese. Their Chinese staff spoke in lightening speed with a guest who obviously spoke non-native putonghua. I had to ask for them to slow down. When I tried to settle some payment a week before I checked in, I was offered bank tele-transfer, AliPay and WeChat, NOT credit card. For guests who don't have AliPay and WeChat, and who don't want to pay the bank charges, there was no other way to settle the fee. The opening of their Water World had been postponed at the last minute. However, the price of room included 2 free entry to this theme park. No notification was sent to the guests about the delay. (We find out by asking the Front desk.)No apologies. No compensation arrangements. When we asked, we were then offered breakfast and drinks at the VIP Club. Turns out the breakfast were of less variety than the one offered in their usual restaurant. Finally, on the day of departure, my daughter forgot her stuff toy in the room. We wrote back, they found it, but told us we need to pay 50RMB for the delivery. I don't mind to pay, but I am puzzled that a hotel who claims itself to be of 5-star rank would let go of a wonderful PR opportunity (sending the toy for free) for 50 RMB.
