Very friendly and helpful staff. Despite the fact I was leaving early, they still prepared something to take with me. Food was excellent in the restaurant.

The service, food, atmosphere, drink selection were all outstanding, making this a great first impression when we arrived. The room was nice, with a decent ensuite shower and good size room over all. Unfortunately, the bed was really quite bad. 2 old mattresses pushed together (not uncommon), but as they were old sprung things instead of memory foam, and with solid walls to them where they met, it was like rolling over a hill and down into a valley. Didn't sleep well at all due to this, which is a shame. Replace the bed and this becomes an easy 5 star review!

Very warm welcome, typical of all the staff with whom we dealt. Dinner and breakfast were both good and the choice of beverages at the bar was excellent. Bed wasn’t overly comfortable but otherwise a most enjoyable stay.

I stayed for 3 nights in July while visiting family. This was a very nice country inn in a small Somerset village. My room was spacious and clean and the bed was really comfortably. Although the pub was busy at times, no noise was heard in the room. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and even made me a take away breakfast when I was unable to make the weekend breakfast times. The breakfast menu was good and varied. I thought it was excellent value for money and will definitely stay here next time I visit the area.

Lovely country pub in the heart of Oakhill. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the landlord is a real gem. Food was well priced and excellent quality l, breakfast was also super. Met friends for dinner and it all arrived timely on warm plates. Can’t fault the place and I will definitely stay again. 10/10 any day.

Online the Oakhill inn looked amazing, modern vintage. However, when we arrived, I was quite disappointed. We were given a room at the front of the property and it was very dark with the navy painted on the walls. There was only one full length mirror and no dressing table as we saw in all the other rooms advertised on the website, which was disappointing as I feel it had so much potential but seemed very outdated and dark and depressing. It did cross my mind to ask if we could have another room, however earlier that week when ringing to confirm our booking i was told the Inn was fully booked, so didn’t wish to waste my time asking. The bathroom was lovely, fairly new. However in the morning when my partner used the shower, it was ice cold and at one point we couldn’t flush the toilet which wasn’t great! The remote control for the TV did not work and throughout the night we had a cold draft come in from the window. However, the bed was very comfy and we had a good night sleep. Apart from the cars going past in the country lane. Staff seemed relatively helpful but upon leaving in the morning the send off wasn’t has cheerful just a simple “safe trip” which was quite disappointing as using a small family run business we expected more of a connection with the staff which didn’t really seem the case. The location was okay, quite far from anywhere so if you wish to visit a neighbouring village maybe try a big chain hotel as it was £40 taxi to bath one way!

The staff were very welcoming and made a fuss of our little dog. The food was excellent and the wine was a treat. They were very helpful and friendly. The inn was very characterful and felt very homely. I highly recommend a stay at The Oakhill Inn. It was also very popular with the locals which speaks volumes. Bridget
