The assistant manager checked us in. He charged me full price for the room. When he found out I had booked online, which saved us $22.60, he got an attitude. He said that the room was on the 2nd floor at the far end of the hall, and there was no elevator. I asked if there was something on the 1st floor, as my husband has trouble walking. He said the only other room was on the 1st floor, but was not a king smoking room, which is what we requested online. We took the 2nd floor room against our better judgement. After we attended a family gathering we returned to the motel. It took us 30 minutes to get to our room, because of my husbands inability to manuver stairs. When we got there, there was a light out, the TV didn't work, the phone didn't work, the ice machine was at the other end of the motel on the 1st floor. The pop machi ne didn't work. I called the front desk on my cell phone, and explained the problems. Imagine my surprise when the night clerk told me,"we only have one room left, but it is on the first floor, and it is a king/smoking room. The assistant manager lied to me. The night clerk was awesome. She set us up in a room that worked, and worked for us. She was amazing.
