No frills bed and breakfast. This is the type of place that you book for serenity and for the quiet atmosphere which was perfect for our trip. It is worth noting that you need to make arrangements to get your access code ahead of time if you think you will have delays in your travel. However this process was easy to do. The property is close to volcano national park and also has an enjoyable rainforest environment as well.

Lovely grounds.plenty continental breakfast left in refrigerator so you can eat early. Room size fine. Could use slightly more comfortable chairs for collapsing after park. What a cute place! We had a wonderful stay at Hale 'Ohu Bed & Breakfast to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The place was clean & comfortable, the breakfast was nice, and the owners were helpful with area recommendations. We will definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to make another trip to this beautiful state.

Best accommodations in Hawaii!

The accommodations were amazing! The breakfast fresh and delicious! The grounds were beautiful! 5 minutes from the entrance to Volcano NP, 2 minutes from the Village, where you can pick up a awesome submarine sandwich to go for your hike. Make sure to vome back early (5 pm) and have dinner at Lava Rock cafe before they gwt busy.
