Formal Request for Full Refund Due to Uninhabitable Conditions – July 12 Stay
To Steelhead Inn Management,
I am writing to formally request a full refund for my stay at your property on July 12, 2024, which I booked through Hotels.com. The conditions of the room and the experience I endured with my family were unacceptable, especially under the circumstances we were facing.
That evening, I had just left the emergency room after my husband was treated for heat exhaustion. I was alone with him and our two young children, trying to find a safe place to rest after a chaotic and frightening day. What I found at Steelhead Inn was the opposite of safe, clean, or acceptable.
The issues included:
• A broken television, for which you sent a maintenance worker to our room after 10 PM, further disrupting our already stressed and exhausted family.
• A shower so full of bugs it could not drain, making it impossible for anyone to bathe. The infestation was deeply unsanitary and disturbing.
• We were forced to pack up and move rooms late at night — an unreasonable and distressing situation with two small children.
This was not a minor inconvenience. It was a nightmare stay after a medical emergency, and it failed to provide even the most basic standard of hospitality and hygiene. No family should have to endure what we did.
