We absolutely fell in love with the Pipe House charm and the warm and friendly owner! Great vibes, beautiful location just steps from the beach, unique lodgings and fun common areas to hang out. We can’t say enough about this gem of a place. We ate dinner down the way at the Swells Cafe Playa Grande. This is a very special place to be! I plan on returning in the future. Hopefully sooner than later.

The Pipe House was great. Best fit for young travelers looking for a youth hostel type environment. Hip place. We didn’t sleep very well in the tubes but we’re likely spoiled by bug beds and room to spread out. We felt very safe there and would definitely suggest to youthful travelers.

Such a unique experience! Pipehouse feels like a home away from home. It’s very intimate and amazing access to the beach! Tamarindo is only a 10-15 minute walk away which gives you perfect balance of bustling crowds and your own quiet paradise. The Staff are lovely and the owner is extremely helpful and accommodating. This hostel is perfect for meeting like minded people—you get your own sleeping space and get to meet new friends in the common spaces. Breakfast is wonderful, it’s a 30second walk from the beach, has AC, it felt safe and inviting, and the host is amazing. He’s around to check in and does a great job of making you feel comfortable! I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a quieter place to stay in Costa Rica. The water taxi to busy Tamarindo is only a 5 minute walk down the beach! I will definitely be back.

Amazing place..:.the pipes are a unique concept. The beds are very comfortable and the pipes are air conditioned. The breakfast is cooked in front of you and is delicious the cooks even make homemade tortillas right there. The beach is amazing it is so peaceful and quiet (if you want a busy more resort fill you can take the water taxi over to Tamarindo) There are beautiful shells all over this beach and the sand is amazing. Phillipe the owner provided surf lessons right in-front of the property for a fee…my daughter had a surf lesson and it was excellent! Definitely a wonderful place to stay in a amazing location with the nicest people. As other have described it feels like a boutique hotel…

We stumbled upon this place online after not being able to find accomodation in Tamarindo and I am so happy about that and I cannot say enough great things. Felipe the owner is so friendly and helpful, the staff as well. Breakfast is included - simple but good. The Pipes are more spacious then they look and all have a/c. The vibe is friendly and low key. There is a gym, hammocks and is a 1 min walk to the beach. You are close enough that you can hear the waves crashing on the beach when you are in bed at night. You can take surf lessons or just hire a board for $10. There is a couple amazing restaurants close by and a small market. Just a short walk down the beach and you can take a $2 water taxi accross the estuary to Tamarindo. The ferry stops running at 5 so make sure you are back or you have to take a cab (45min drive) to get back here. The beach here is so quiet compared to Tamarindo and you can swim safely. I would definitely recommend staying

Very unique place with a feel between boutique and hostel. The location is amazing right on a quiet section of Playa Grande, which has better surf and less people and noise than nearby Tamarindo. Very friendly and helpful host. There is a kitchen you can use to prepare meals, a spacious covered area to relax, a gym area with weights and yoga mats, and a beautiful courtyard with hammocks. The parking is safe and behind a coded gate. Great cafe nearby with great happy hour specials.

Excelente! Disfrutamos mucho nuestra estancia. El espacio de la habitación esta limitado por la misma estructura que tiene sin embargo resultó muy cómodo y agradable para descansar. Las áreas comunes muy espaciosas, tanto el comedor como la cocina, la cual es super amplia y con todo el menaje necesario para preparar y guardar tus alimentos. Igual el área de descanso muy bonito. Los baños y duchas cómodos y muy limpios. En general todo el lugar muy ordenado y muy limpio, todos los dias llegaron a limpiar y a desinfectar. Prácticamente frente a la mejor zona de la playa lo hace el lugar ideal para visitar. 💯

Excellent experience. Pipe was clean and bed was confortable except that the air conditioning remote gets crazy at night. Location is not directly on the beach as we thought but it is within 30 seconds walk. The host was great too. You can directly rent a surfboard from him.
