We had a nice family stay at Village Heights Resort. The amenities were good: we played mini-golf multiple times and it was also great that the hotel had tennis equipment that we could use. The gym was also good. The food was at a good level and the choice was quite broad. There was also an option to have a local Cretan breakfast at the Rodies restaurant which was lovely. We used the shuttle to the town a couple of times, which was convenient

Family Vacation

The resort is very beautiful and central to beaches and other activities. The resort staff is attentive and kind. The restaurants, especially Roadies! We had an issue with the beach shuttle which resulted in ordering a taxi. The staff was very kind and gracious as a result of that issue. Otherwise, everything was wonderful!

Great place, wonderful swimming pools, spacious and clean rooms and beautiful landscaping. Only critical feedback is the lack of Greek dining options for lunch. More focused on burgers and hot dogs than gyros and good salads which is a shame. Buffet breakfast was good but average

Absolutely beautiful hotel with great amenities. Staff are so lovely and welcoming. The rooms have everything you need to make your own food. We went half board and the food in the restaurant was lovely but we’re vegetarian so the choice was slightly limited.

Wonderful resort, incredible staff and service, nothing was too much trouble. very good accommodation, cleaned every day. The best food we have ever had at an all inclusive resort, the Rodies was incredible! Special thanks to the very welcoming F&B manager, main restaurant manager, Maria ( at Citrus), Theodora and every member of the team who looked after us. We will be returning.Massive thank you.

Overall a nice two week stay. Apartments are starting to look and feel really dated. Room 1104 was right next to the pool but a bit noisy with dragging chairs of the restaurant early in the morning and late at night. The resort felt a little less friendlier than we experienced in previous stays - just felt kind staff didn’t interact as they have done previously. More casual options for dinner are limited in the resort but it’s easy enough to get into town - but it would be better if the resort put on more shuttle buses after 1945pm. Overall a nice stay and a worthwhile trip. 4/5 stars!

Nice Resort If & When You Can Use It

Nice resort with a lot of “sign up” sheets for seemingly everything, including the laundry room (which has two washing machines for a very large resort). But my big complaint is the pool hours: 10:00 to 18:00! That’s too short, especially in the middle of a heat wave! Basically the resort’s best feature was only usable 30% of the time! Cretan restaurant was excellent. And the room was nice too.

Loved our stay here for a week in late August. Resort never felt too busy despite being full. Buffet excellent with lots of choice and different each day. Kids loved the pools and it felt safe enough for them to go off (age 9,12) unsupervised for short periods. Good entertainment and the staff were helpful and just lovely, all the time. Great to have shuttle bus into town for a change of scene and some shopping. Views are beautiful. Good gym and v reasonable mini mart on site

We had a great time, and we even told our friends that the only three things we didn't like the least was the amount of bees that roamed the hotel and it's scary to get stung, the second thing is that the nights were cold and we didn't have a scarf to cover ourselves at night, the next day we asked the maid and she did bring us a scarf, but it had a terrible smell And 3 more nights we were cold at night, and the last thing is that there is no cheese at breakfast, every day the same and there is only one type of cheese to smell. Besides that, we really liked the hotel and had a great time

Perfect tranquil getaway!

Fantastic rustic and rural getaway in Crete. Staff all extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too big an ask. Everyone we met on the trip were also very friendly and kind. The resort itself is pretty faultless, every member of staff is super kind and friendly, they all looked after us so well from reception to restaurants. Food was fantastic at Rodies - probably the best meal we had as well as Sofas Taverna in old town Hersonissos. Cooking class was brilliant and well worth the money; wine tasting was very generous and we had a three-course meal. There's no huge international buffet or anything on mass scale, which for me I love! If you're not interested in the local culture it probably isn't for you as it's very traditional, tranquil and just the perfect rural holiday for a total switch-off. We'd love to be back. Pools were immaculately kept and very peaceful, even with the odd kids around (we did go in September so it was quieter). Never had to queue for anything and all maintained well, no drinks or food left lying around. The room is probably the only part which needs touching up, it's a little dated but also is a style thing - very Cretan and rustic. It was perfect for what we needed, though the bathroom was in need of a proper clean as we had some ants/dirt behind the door. Not a major issue as everything else was pretty much bang on!
