Quick Stopover

Quick stopover enroute to another destination. Clean comfortable had everything required but don’t expect luxury. Very happy with accommodation for the price 😊

4/10 Poor

The room shown when booking and the room given to us was very different. It was right in the basement. Lots of mosquitoes and bugs. This was despite them having other rooms empty when we checked in, but they didnt give us one. Not recommended.

All good

2/10 Terrible

Proprieter stunk of smoke. Advert did not show the chip shop attached to the hotel. Choice of smells , fish and chips or cigarette smoke. Carpets stained. Different smell of wee inside hotel. Dirty cups in room, mouldy shower mats, booken windows in room with dead flies on window sills. Broken glass outside in car park. Left after 10 minutes.

I have dogs, this is one of the best pet friendly hotels I've stayed at. Friendly, helpful staff, nice curry house just along the road and a short drive to the Parkrun I was taking part in. Thanks 😊

10/10 Excellent

Lovely stay at great little hotel.

Great stay at the castle hotel, staff very friendly and the room was lovely, we would definitely stay here again. The manager was very friendly and saw to our every need, even when I managed to pay for the room twice as I didn't know hotels.com had already taken the payment, he refunded the overpayment immediately.

Nice place with nice people there.

6/10 Okay

Room seemed to be mid-renovation, with some things looking new and others in need of replacing or upgrading. We booked and arrived very late so were grateful they could accommodate that. Maybe the room had only been partially cleaned from the previous stay due to the late notice? The bed was clean and well-made, but there was rubbish in the drawers and it hadn't been hoovered. Toilet didn't look clean either. The next day I asked if someone could hoover and they did, but not very well and with either an old hoover or one that needed emptying (it left behind that musky smell that old hoovers have). There was plenty of space to hang and store clothes and a small tea & coffee station, but only one mug and one spoon for a double room. Very limited supply of toiletries, though we take our own everywhere so not a massive issue for us. It was day 3 before we got a top-up of toilet roll so we'd been replenishing it ourselves. The (cream) carpet was heavily stained and really needs replacing. We could see other rooms had new-looking grey carpet, which added to the feeling of it being mid-renovation. There was a squashed spider on the bathroom ceiling and lots of cobwebs. It was okay as a low-budget option. Could be a lovely place to stay with more attention to detail.

A large experience in a small hotel

Nice clean room in the hotel, great welcome from manager, good food after arriving and checking in. Lola our dog was well looked after too. Nice shower in the bathroom, good facilities in the room.

Very basic plane, but breakfast was cereals and yogurt which is all we needed. Owner was SUPER friendly

Your Bronilys Hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff; the rooms are very comfortable and quiet. There's a nice bar and restaurant for evening meals (fish and chips is quite good). Breakfast is continental, but there is a nice variety of cereals and toast and other items. The internet was quite good, by British standards.
Room #5
Harvey, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

Good service, but ok overall

The service was great, and Ray was the perfect host but the cleanliness let the hotel down. All the essentials were clean - bath, sink and bedding so that was good, but the floor in the bathroom hadn’t been hovered so was quite hairy, and there were some windows in the communal areas that were a bit mouldy.
4-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Ray & Ian take pride in their business & take a great interest in their clients while offering a very personal service
Martin, 1-night trip

4/10 Poor

The staff was friendly, Food not good, the breakfast was okay but no hot breakfast.
N, 1-night trip

2/10 Terrible

Shocking

I cannot believe this hotel is rated as good. Filthy carpets on way to rooms, halway covered in dirt, cobwebs in the room, dust on all the furniture, bed was as soft as marshmallow, no soap in toilet, just terrible. In fact it was that bad we didn't even stay, we just handed back the keys and walked out despite losing our payment.
