For what we had to do in Whitehorse this place was great. The building was Klondike looking and it was close to all the stores in town. Very convienient with a laundromat attached as well!

The shower in our room was broken, but front desk staff was extremely apologetic and was able to switch us to a different room. Besides that, everything else was fine

For the price, compared to other places in Whitehorse, the destination family hotel is a spectacular bargain. More than that, it's not a bad place to stay quality wise. You're not going to get four star accommodations, but compared to what you spend, I believe that the property more than excels.

Unfortunately bad
The staff was friendly, but the entire building smelled bad. The room was not clean. When I looked under the bed as I retrieved something there was piles of dirt underneath it. It was a very depressing place.

The entire hotel smelled like spicy India food and every door and drawer in the room was stuck shut. Very sticky and dirty

Almost 5 stars
Great room, very clean. I had to make the comfort 4 stars because they do not use a fitted sheet on the mattress. They use a flat sheet and it barely tucks. I wrestled keeping it in place all night long.

It's nothing to write home about, but it's OK.
Many people gave this place a bad review. Does it show its age, yes. Are there some well aged or broken items in the room, yes. Is it a dump, no.
We would stay there again, yes...

Don’t go to this hotel
Room was very smal and had no room to move around, bed was hard as a rock, the sheets didn’t fit the King bed which was really to twin mattress put together.

The hotel is in a rather rough part of town. No hair dryer. No clock and limited power outlets. The beds were adequate and the price was lower than most others in the area but I probably would not stay there again.

Disgusting
Property was trashy- worst place I have ever stayed in. Stinky like cat pee - sketchy place and I would never recommend this to anyone. Sheets were stained and I felt so dirty being in the room.

Beware and book elsewhere.
Bring house shoes if you plan on staying here. The property is run down, outdated, and only superficially cleaned at best. The front desk attendant seemed far more interested in her phone conversation than in welcoming my family. I would never have booked this hotel had I known what to expect. Upon check-in, we were met with at least 15 posted rules that made it clear the hotel is often used for drugs, parties, and late-night activity. Outside, a sign even read “staff carry guns” — unsettling, to say the least. The parking lot foot traffic made us uneasy about even leaving our vehicle there.
Save yourself the stress and spend the extra $10–$20 to stay somewhere else. Beware.

The property did not feel safe. I was barely inside at the reception and an intoxicated person leaned over my shoulder and started talking. Others went inside and took the elevator0q

The room features a 1978 decor and everything is broken, everything is soiled, stains of sperm, blood, and cigarette burns in the bed, hair and body hair, stains on the walls, dangerous neighberhood.

Dirty
Used towels, unclean tables and microwave. I asked for a new clean room and the front desk looked me like I had four heads. After an unsatisfactory conversation with her, I went out and bought cleaning supplies, and brought in some of my own scrappy clothes for sleep. (If I had room in my car I would have stayed in the car instead.) Cleaned for an hour. Felt marginally better about life. Exhausted so fell asleep on the visibly dirty sheets. Woke up with a massive eye infection. Never staying here again.
