Beautiful property right on the ocean. Hard to decide - beach or pool or hot tub? Should we have lunch in our room, at the pool or walk down the beach to the Tiki Hut? All were great options and we will definitely return. Easy to rent bikes, chairs/umbrellas across the street.

Great Stay

I had a great time staying here with my wife, kids, and mother in law. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and the full kitchen was great for cooking breakfast and keeping food and drink costs down. The property is well located, clean, excellent pool areas, and the onsite restaurant was convenient for food and drinks. It's near the beach, so we were able to wake up early and walk to watch the sunrise on the beach. Also enjoyed drinks on the balcony in the evenings before bed. Two minor issues the bathroom plugs stopped working on the last day of our stay and missing pool towels in our room at check-in. Pool towels were available at the front desk though. Parking may not be available if you go out for the evening and get back after 9:00, but there were always spots available in the overflow lot across the street.

The front staff was always welcoming and the concierge was informative and always seemed to want to help - was genuinely interested in what we thought about areas we visited - even spoke to us during one of her breaks outside. The pools were very clean and a good size, never over-crowded. The beach access was close; games available to play such as corn hole and ping pong, activities for kids on certain days. The room was very spacious, clean and the beds were so comfortable! Property seemed very safe and quiet later in the evening; needed room key to enter the elevator located in parking garage. Only 2 complaints for me - food was not the greatest and only had the pool restaurant, so we ate out or made our own food most of the time; and we didn't get room service daily due to the fact we only stayed 4 nights, but they were very good about picking up dirty towels and bringing new ones to our door.

Large, Clean, and Comfortable Suite

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ocean Oak Resort. The suite was super clean and looked like it was brand new. Very large open space included full kitchen, dining, living room. 2 large bedrooms with comfortable beds and 2 large bathrooms. We had an ocean view suite and could see the ocean clearly from the bedroom, living room and of course, from the large balcony. John showed us to our room and helped with the luggage. He was super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Our only complaint would be the staff at the onsite restaurant seemed to want to avoid helping guest. The first night they told us the kitchen was closed even through it was at least and hour before scheduled closing time. I went down for breakfast the next morning and there was no one there to take my order, other people were sitting there eating their food so I know they were open. My wife and her sister were finally able to get lunch there, but said the staff seemed unfriendly. I highly recommend this property for a Hilton Head vacation. Just avoid the onsite restaurant and you should have a great stay!
