Located close enough to Central Railway Station, it was convenient as we only had an overnight stay before heading back home. Bed was comfortable and appeared to be new which was a huge plus. We were lucky enough to have a private toilet and shower, which were clean. Upstairs the rooms were quiet enough for our privacy.

A decent little hidden-hole

It's perfectly fine for what it is: a cheap place to sleep, very close to Sydney Central station. The staff are friendly and there's a decent pub right next door.

Hotel manager very kind and understanding when we encountered some hiccups checking in. Very well priced for the quality of accommodation - the room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. There was air con, a kettle, some basic cutlery and crockery, and a fridge. I'd definitely choose to stay here again due to the cost and the location.

The Central Private Hotel is not a high end property but there were a number of things that made it stand out. Location, virtually right next to Central Station. Staff, a late booking and check in, not a trouble to the staff member. Facilities, the room had all facilities I required. Cleanliness, spotless, I must admit I was impressed, especially with the shine on the sink.

Top notch cleaning skills, I could touch everything smooth and walk barefoot that clean. White fresh linen even the bedcover looked and smelled clean. Our double unit has window with fresh air, kitchens sink, utensils and kettle. TV and Aircon which we didn't use. The reception people were great and gave extra blankets and it was nicely cool in July 2025. No lifts but thankfully stairs and common areas are all lit. Oh and the toilet and showers were a common area too. Thankfully it was quiet and deserted in the hall every time we went to the bathroom which were clean. Shower water was hot which was great and we found towels and soap, tea coffee sugar, fridge, mirror, bedside table, desk and chair. Wardrobe. i paid 128 a night.

Nightly disturbances

Good location next to the Sydney Central station. Friendly staff and our family room was an ok size for 3 people. However we stayed 7 nights and the police was there at least 3 times during our stay because of disturbances that went on late in the night. When we called reception they immediately took action but there was still yelling on and off through the night.

The property is next to Central station, so is convenient in that sense. One can catch a city tram or suburban train. The property is old, the furnishings in the room are basic, standard. Double bed, tv, sink and small bar fridge. Most rooms dont have ensuite, so sharing the bathroom, which are across the hall. The stairs are bit of an issue, particularly if you have quite a bit of luggage, or heavy luggage. There is no lift. Quite a few stairs.
