Excellent experience at the edge of Glacier Nation

Historic hotel with lots of charm. We appreciated the attention to detail for the outdoor loving people staying there, while still providing excellent food and service.

Historic gem.

We loved our stay at this beautiful historic location. It's old and rustic but very clean. The property was well kept and cleaned.

Love the amenities in the room

Love the amenities in the room, all the gears to support your adventure! The coffee was really good too! Love the historic railways/trains surrounding and very close proximity to Goat Lick Overlook (even though we didn’t see any goat when we were there), good wifi for our hotel room as well (which is really helpful since there is no cell signal at all in the area). The route to the hotel from the park is scenic as well.

Cool place in the woods near Glacier

Cabin was in the woods. Overall it was all good. My only complaint was having to drive over a mile on a dirt road that had a lot of pot holes and not fun to drive in poring rain
Terry, 2-night trip

Nice place but low service

Nice, clean rooms. The level of service and care from employees could use improvement. Very expensive place to stay for little to no service.

Don’t pass

Absolutely blew our expectations away. The most unique, cool accommodations; superb dining at a reasonable price at their onsite restaurant; coolest bar and classic game room onsite (think shuffleboard, scrabble, etc). Can’t say enough about this gem!

8/10 Very good

Reasonable location (pretty close to West and not very far from East park entrance), nothing nearby, but there is a restaurant in the Loge. Cool rooms, ours had hammock, also there are rooms made of cabooses. Unfortunately air conditioners are not popular there, and it was very hot in the room.

Caboose 1

When we pulled up it was disappointing to see the condition of the property.Caboose 1 is a show car not usually a rental (front desks words not mine ) ,but yet was rented to me . Big wedding party was put there before my arrival due to limited space elsewhere. Very noisy due to being next to Main road . Other areas may be worth the price this caboose was not.

8/10 Very good

We stayed 4 days. We came in on the Train. It would be nice if there was a shuttle service to help you get back and forth from the platform. It is a 1/4 mile walk . Staff was very friendly and helpfull. We were told that the red bus pucked up there to go on tours and it does not. There is also no car rental like there use to be. So if you are not prepaired ahead of time and you com in by train you are going to be sitting there or pay 100s of dollars for an Uber. I was very relaxing. They do need to have a wider variety of items on the menu. Like pancakes and chicken or fish.

Great place to relax and unwind. Had a fabulous visit! Great burger on the patio, marshmallow kits for the fire pit, and played cards in the bar. The loaner items in the room and the hammock were nice extras!

The Loge folks did a wonderful job keeping the flavor of the original Isaak Walton Inn but added nice updates. Be prepared, there is no regular cell service in the area but Loge has excellent WIFI.
JUDITH, 1-night trip

Wonderful staff

We stayed here while visiting Glacier National Park. It was quite a drive from the park. The lodge itself was quite rustic. No tv, no ac. There were ceiling fans but it was quite warm the 2 days we stayed and it took a long time for the window open and fan on to cool down at night. There was an active railway about 100 ft from the lodge and the sound of the train during the night did wake me. The room was tiny and i stubbed my toe twice during the night on the way to the bathroom. That being said, the staff was top notch; anything they could do for you, they would. Very friendly and helpful. I loved them. The food was delicious, the room spotless and the bed very comfortable. So, if you don't mind rustic conditions, this would be an excellent choice. If you aren't as outdoorsy, look for something else.
Kris, 2-night trip

TV wouldn't work.

TV wouldn't work. I can't understand not making the minimal investment for a decent smart TV. Room was clean and the bed was nice.

Great location, one stop shop

Overall, great place to stay with family with a cute game room, outside play area, bar and restaurant on site. The bfast menu was limited and so we didn’t eat there for breakfast as our kids wanted pancakes or waffles. The instant coffee provided in cabin was appreciated and the yeti bear proof cooler came in handy for our daytime adventures. we also did laundry so having that was helpful. We liked ending our day with a beer and the bar had a good selection of draft and canned beer. The trains were fun to watch and gave a unique experience. The staff were generally helpful- out of 10 staff we interacted with, 8 of them were cheerful and helpful with 1 going above and beyond. The smore kits didn’t have chocolate and then the next day they had added chocolate chips - so we appreciated their creativity. We enjoyed our stay and will return!

Ella, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Positive, next to train tracks, hubby loved it. Toiletries for shower on shelf over toilet, pump bottles. Kettle had leftover water in it but fast heat up. Outside deck furniture, rails and area with lots of old drink rings, thick dust. Food good, small selection. Diesel engine next door idling entire stay. Good people and then there was Tianna, fantastic! They are trying too hard to be boutique in a wonderful antique building. Take a breath, relax and we'd love to come back. Looove the area.
Julie, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Lovely setting with railroad theme. Really beautiful with a friendly lodge; great dining.
Marcia, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

Too many trains

While the charm of the railroad cars was interesting our room was in the main lodge. Second floor, no elevator. Room had no air conditioning and no TV. Didn’t realize that trains went by 24 hrs a day. And they are long, 100+ cars each. Now I know why they give out ear plugs at the front desk. The place smelled musty and like train fuel exhaust. We booked two days there but left after 1 night. Wasn’t worth the cost. The lodge itself is cute and the food at the restaurant was good and the service was excellent.
Michael, 2-night trip
