It was clean and the staff were great. The hotel is just a little dated. But we had a waterfront room and it was great!

Nice stay, carpets need cleaning.
Very nice historical building. Security around building is good. We stayed on second floor, did hear the trains, and shouting in hallways.
This is our second stay. Carpets in rooms could be cleaned

Thunder Bay Gem - Prince Arthur Hotel
Very spacious and cozy room. Beautiful view of Lake Superior! While the hotel is situated in an area that is a little rough, there was an on-site very proactive security guard and the very large and fully fenced in parking lot easily accommodated my pickup truck and attached boat. Highly recommend!

Never again
I thought the old Hotel would be a great experience. No place to eat and everyone seemed like so "High".
Room next door had a crying child left alone.
Homeless people on bridge drunk.

Hotel was clean, but has seen better days.
Exterior needs some attention as it is dirty and weathered. The Room was comfortable and clean with some new carpet needed. The view from our room was nice as we faced the Bay. Has a pool and hot tub. Restaurant was nice, but pricey and the waitress didn’t know anything about the food on the menu we asked her about. Fortunately the food was tasty and well cooked.

Bring ear plugs.
This hotel, unfortunately, did not live up to expectations. The walls are paper thin so you’ll need earplugs to mask sounds from neighbouring rooms. There was no attention to basic detail by hotel staff. The bathroom sink drained slowly, bathroom light did not work, extremely dirty carpets by the elevator and unclear parking lot exit instructions. Overall, this hotel could have been so much more.

Cheaper in Great Location
I had to book a stay with short notice. Nicole, at the front desk is awesome. I also had another booking and she gave me tips on how to book and not incur cancellation fees. She also looked up where and when I could book to pay less. All staff are friendly. The area gets active at night but there is 24 hour security. My car was safe and there were no "kusties" hanging around. Instead they go to the Marina Park or cross over bridge.

Friendly staff, and the view was excellent.
The swimming pool was questionable based on location and carpet, plus lack of security cameras i.e. blind spots.
Parking lot does not deter random foot traffic.
Room had microwave, fridge, and complimentary coffee and tea, bathroom had available soap/ conditioner plus towels. Tv is working as well with basic channels for viewing
Overall a good stay.

This historic hotel is pretty basic but its location directly across from the Prince Arthur landing is ideal. The prospector steakhouse and roosters bistro are both just a couple of blocks away. The staff is friendly and there is a security guard in the lobby since this is a downtown area with the typical city vagrants. We have also stayed here in the summer and the Lakeshore view is fantastic.

Very misleading advertising
Prince Arthur Hotel should not be listed on Hotels.com site!
It WAS a grand hotel . Location was beautiful ..with views of the lake .
Rooms were adequate .
But currently the hotel plays host to mainly Thunder Bay Street people. Often noisy at night . Taking the elevator , cramped and accessed awkwardly off a narrow staircase , was difficult . One night an occupant had a fire in their room , caused by their toaster. On occasion the occupants were pan handling . The hotel is situated in a poorer part of town and we did not feel safe going out after dark.
Would definitely not return .
