Historic landmark, a bit worn down

The hotel is all right. Breakfast only available from 7.30 am, not ideal for a work trip. The casino is not operating and looks like something out of a 70s horror movie. But the Chinese restaurant next door is great and good value.

Not as advertised. The place is literally falling apart. The casino is closed. There is no restaurant in the hotel. Beds were rock hard. Thumping music from somewhere in the hotel all night. Only nice thing was The front desk staff were nice and arranged a cab to the airport as there is no shuttle. Thankfully only stayed one night. Will not return.

Not much to do around the area and there are rumors of it being in a not so good area of Santiago. I would challenge that claim since I walled all over the place even at dark without feeling any kind of threat. There is a very excellent Chinese restaurant next door which I highly recommend. As a Dominican raised abroad I chose this hotel for its historical value. As a tourist you'll be charmed by the decor and the charming staff. My breakfast was cold two days in a row and the stay was over priced.

Excellent location! I enjoyed my stay here as it is in walking distance to the Monument, bars, and restaurants. Also the staff were very friendly. However, the hotel is undergoing major renovations so there’s noise from jackhammering. Also there’s noise from the club downstairs and guests in the hallway. However, none of this bothered me because I was usually out at night partying. After the renovations, I imagine that it’ll be a wonderful place to stay.

This hotel is undergoing renovations and the reception area is a mess. The rooms are very nice, spacious and well appointed. The pool needs work and they only leave the pool area open until 6:00 pm. Their bar was closed due to renovations… it will be great (and more expensive) one day, but in the meantime there are inconveniences. The staff tries their best to deal with the service interruptions.
