Pretty on the outside and nice property but our barrel smelled strongly of sewage and we couldn’t figure out how to fix it. Also did not get the free tour you get if you book with the hotel directly so was bummed about that. Otherwise staff was nice and it was a fun one time novelty

Awesome little barrel hotel on the grounds of a tequila distillery. Really cool designed buildings and restaurant. The resident ducks are gorgeous too!

I had the best experience visiting Matices! The place is gorgeous one of a kind and everyone was so nice, courteous and friendly. I love the free Tequila tasting and the free tour of the place. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here when visiting Tequila Jalisco!

The hotel was very quiet, wifi was patchy at best and didn't work for some of our party. The rooms were clean and spacious and had AC so we were happy with the room itself. But the location of the hotel was not idea, it is a 5-10 minute taxi outside of the main town down bumpy gravel roads. Breakfast was average and service was slow and they had no juice available which was a disappointment. Ni (our guide on our tequila tour) was great and she gave a brilliant tour in English - the tour was the only highlight of our trip.

The hotel felt safe and clean. It was a great experience except for the mosquitos. There was only one restaurant in the property and ubers would not go up to the property so you have to get a taxi but the taxis came quick

I had an experience expected. We wanted to be in the full experience. But a few days before my trip I called to see if we could bring our baby with us and told me that the hotel was closed and that they were thinking about calling us to tell us. At the end the staff was helpful and gave us the other hotel that was in our option but for a reason we wanted to stay at a barrica.
