If you go in the early spring time and it by chance gets hot they do not turn air-conditioning on AT ALL until they shut down boiler system. Thats what we were told. Rooms were HOT at night.

My sister said she loved staying at Oakwood because she feels like she's on vacation there. The Inn is warm and welcoming, the staff is very accomodating. We loved the fire in the fireplace, the fall decorations,the proximity to the lobby Starbucks!

The beach is small and tracks onto the sidewalk. Could have used more chairs along the waterfront and some in our near the large gazebo on the front lawn. It's a good looking building and the indoor decor is nice. I liked the pictures of the olden days in the corridor to the restaurant.

Hotel was ok...not great. Service was pretty good. There were a couple issues with our room (light in the bathroom and drain) and only one of the two was fixed. Not too many amenities, but that's to be expected with a small town hotel on the lake. Probably will go Airbnb next time.

Didn't have enough towels or toilet paper for our stay. Had to ask several times every day for towels. Needed to do some online work and there was never internet. We stayed several nights and there is no room cleaning service. With kids our room got pretty messy. Would have appreciated at least the garbage removed. Improvements to the beach area where appreciated and well enjoyed since our last visit 4 years ago.

I chose to stay here because I had heard good things about the resort and my wife and I were looking for a close getaway. My check-in and checkout were smooth. The desk staff were always present, friendly and helpful. The public areas of the property were mostly in good condition, but our room clearly was falling into disrepair. The other negative was that on our way to breakfast in the morning there were construction guys swapping out the light fixtures so they had there tools all across the steps leading down to the front desk. I was disappointed in the condition of the bathroom. The toilet was left dirty even after housekeeping 'cleaned'. The inside door frame paint was peeling

Really bad, avoid this place, it's not like it used to be: 1. old frappucino in fridge from prior guest (or prior prior, who knows?) 2. beetle in room flying around 3. refused to provide towels or service room as it had not been 3 days yet (never mind its not covid any more). 4. Even though their own sign said "service every 3 days but if you'd like you can request it every day". When I pointed that out, after their second refusal, they said, "yeah, that sign is wrong." Worse than all that is the lack of concern of the staff. Each issue was met with basically, "yeah, that's just the way it is." Staff looked disinterested, bored, and not what I'd expect here, nor what I experienced a year ago. They have forgotten they are in hospitality business.
