Lovely stay, rooms need updating but the staff and area are great, so that didn't matter. Recommend Falmouth and the surrounding area.

Stayed for a couple of nights and loved every minute. Really friendly staff & great location. Third time that we’ve stayed at The Falmouth and it never fails to be a great stay.

Choose a different hotel

Looks great from outside, but really run down inside - I advise choosing a different hotel. Staff were pleasant but couldn't get the shower in our room fixed while we were there, so we showered in the spa area. Don't be fooled by the "beach" - it's a concrete platform facing the sea (there is a little sand visible at low tide). One good thing was the breakfast, which was great!

A lovely hotel in a beautiful location

A beautiful location, with lovely views. A lovely hotel with a lot of history. We enjoyed looking at the old photographs of it. A very comfortable, clean room. Tea and coffee facilities with a lovely cafetière in the room. We enjoyed a quick visit to the swimming pool and sauna though the jacuzzi was out of action. The breakfast was a little disappointing compared to everything else ( cooked breakfast sausage was rubbery and poached eggs were over cooked in eggs florentine). This was possibly due to the busyness of the day as there was a wedding taking place, so the staff must have been pushed. Otherwise a great stay. Thank you!

Lovely break well worth the drive

Perfect location- reception staff excellent- good size room/bathroom but grubby window sashes /sills and windows in need of a clean. Comfy beds - tv too small - room cleaning good- breakfast limited but functional - excellent views to the front- car parking good

a second recent visit. We were given an upgrade to a room with a sea view which was nice. Very hot weather but room had two fans. Service in the bar was a little slow but great staff and lovely hotel.

A Falmouth institution

Maybe a little rough round the edges but at 160 years old this is forgivable. A grand seaside hotel that reminds you what hotels used to be like. Good service, good manners, and a little bit of old fashioned class.

One night in Falmouth Hotel

We would recommend this hotel. Lovely position by the sea and just 10 minute to the town. The staff were friendly and smiley. Only have one fault, we had starters for lunch that were great so we decided to eat their in the evening. Our ribeye steak was extremely disappointing

Lovely traditional old hotel. A little tired in places but generally in good order . Bar prices expensive but everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Great birthday break

Loved our room, lots of space, king size bed, sitting area inside and a great balcony with sea view. Great place to watch the world go by and relax, and 15 mins to bars and restaurants. Easy access to coastal path
Claire, 2-night trip

Breakfast was disappointing along with the dining room. Excellent size bedroom. However, we were surprised to see large brown water stains on the ceiling and plaster off the wall around the radiator.

Shanty festival

A traditional upmarket British seaside hotel which has clearly seen better days in its past, but appears to be attempting to get them back. Property shows signs of being tired in places, bedrooms are 3 star in particular, but the staff were exceptional and clearly well trained. An excellent venue from which to enjoy the town's Shanty Festival.
Andrew, 3-night trip

Sea shanty festival

Lovely stay for the sea shanty festival. The only annoyance was lack of room service and the long queues to get a drink. The first time that the festival had been hosted here so guessing they underestimated how busy they would be! Great staff. Castle beach just opposite is lovely for a swim
Jasper, 4-night trip

8/10 Very good

Beautiful old building which has been partially renovated. The single room I had was functional but I look forward to hopefully having one which has been “done up” on my next visit. Great location. Restaurant, bar and Reception stand I dealt with were outstanding. Service excellent. Friendly and extremely helpful.

6/10 Good

The hotel is very dated and clearly needs updating. Very old furniture and pillow choice poor . The staff were great and did their best . We were attending a dinner and the food in the evening was very good however in the morning I felt the breakfast offering was not good . The buffet was limited tinned fruit salad poor choice of pastries and only filter coffee or tea we then waited over 30 mins for our hot food and could not wait . The staff did refund the cost of the breakfast for us . For the amount we paid £190 I would not expect this and certainly wouldn’t return again .
