Brighton Weekend

Visited to support our son running the Brighton marathon. Very warm weekend, both in terms of weather and people, especially Hotel staff. Hotel is close to train station, but did not hear any trains. Close to town centre & amenities this basic hotel is well run, staffed and exceptional value for money.

More of a clean hostel next to the train station

Excellent location right next to the train station. Everything you need on paper but the most basic hotel I have ever stayed in that was not classed a hostel.

10mins walk to the beach its quiet tiring to to walk
Rhoda, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Good location, not to far from the seafront. Unfortunately our room was very noisy, it appeared when other rooms flushed their toilets we could hear it coming through the pipes and this went on all through the night. Also, the light switch by the bed was in a very odd position, easy to knock it whilst in bed by the pillows.

Check was easy with a link sent online, but still required ID. The room was basic but dated. It definitely wasn’t as clean as expected, the bathroom smelt quite badly!

Check in nightmare

We checked in online when we arrived they said we hadn't paid or checked in(we had) Took ages to sort out, then they said we had to pay an extra £15 for each of our dogs per day so an £60 was charged which we thought was included in the room rate as we had included the dogs when booked.

Just about ok

Great location for the railway station, shops, restaurants etc and a fifteen minute walk from the beach. Decent breakfast although lacking any cereals, which was odd. Soulless hotel generally, very basic and soulless bedroom with an extremely basic bathroom. The shower was poor, but usable. Overall, ok with exception of the noise from the street, which went on until very late and was only made tolerable by the noise made by the air con. I wouldn't choose to stay again, but I also wouldn't refuse to.

Solo stay in Brighton

Really friendly helpful welcome. Kept my bags while I parked my car. Told me about the parking discount straight away. Room really clean and compact. Nice social bar. Can eat in or take to your room. Great location 15 mins walk to the beach. Breakfast excellent loads of choice.
Amanda, 2-night trip

Located close to the rail station. Good condition rooms and friendly staff.
Andrew, 4-night trip

perfect service

We got a room with a lot of noise from the toilet/bathroom, but as soon as we "complained" about this we were moved to another room and the staff gave us free breakfast.

Budget

Great location for train station & city centre. Room was very quiet and beds comfortable. Had tonask to move rooms initially as first room allocated was in the basement with no natural light which is not something we were made aware could be an option when booking. Receptionist was quite rude when we asked what else was available. Bathroom light was broken. Spare pillow in storage bag was dirty, glasses were filthy and under the bed was really dusty (could be seen by sitting on side bench) I appreciate this is a budget chain hotel but for £100 per night I expect a working light in the bathroom

6/10 Good

Staying at the Ibis was good. The bed was comfortable and I was pleased that the heating wasn’t on full blast like most other hotels. The only negative was the bathroom which smelt old and water noises from other guests late into the night. Having said that I wasn’t disturbed at all from others.
