Great Country Inn

We had a really lovely stay at the Ellerby, the staff were the friendliest that I've ever met in a hotel. They can't do enough for you, always with a smile and a chat. Food was great too, Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and it was extremely dog friendly, both our dogs had a sausage each for breakfast every day! Hotel isn't 5 star luxury, but it was certainly one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. We loved it and can highly recommend.

The location was lovely. Staff and food excellent. Only problem was our noisy bedroom. We could hear toilets, showers, doors closing etc etc in both rooms adjacent to ours so we were woken early every morning.

A real gem and dog friendly. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived. Lovely room with an enormous bed, well fitted ensuite shower room. Excellent evening meal with a good choice if drinks available. Breakfast was great and our spaniel loved the sausage that they gave to her. Beautiful inn in a peaceful setting

Stopped for a night while walking the Cleveland Way with a friend and couldn't fault the property or service! The location is and property are beautiful, and from the moment we arrived the staff were polite and attentive and went out of their way to help with a breakfast complication (caused by our walk planning rather than the property). Particularly fond of the little garden just outside the rooms! Excellent place - would definitely stay again under more relaxed circumstances!

An absolutely stellar stay at this wonderful country inn. The location is perfect for exploring the coast and Runswick bay a few minutes drive away. The whole experience was top class. The staff and owner are welcoming and the food is extraordinarily good. The accommodation is really cosy and clean. We will be back soon!

Mid week wedding anniversary treat.

We stayed for 2 nights midweek to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel was lovely, clean and friendly with welcoming staff. The breakfast is very good and the 2 evening meals we had were excellent. The bar is well stocked with a good selection of drinks. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable with a huge comfy bed, tea/coffee making and lovely biscuits. The bathroom was immaculate with good quality towels and toiletries. We will definitely return.
