The location of this hotel is great, and the back patio is right on the canal and pairs very well with the daily open bar. However, the place was falling apart in several ways. I was in a room on the top floor (canal view) which was technically true but the position and sizes of the windows didn't really afford a good view. One of the shower heads was in disrepair (the handheld still worked), an electrical outlet was literally falling apart, the air conditioning didn't work for a time, and the front door key entry didn't work one night, though the attendant was there to let me in. I brought up these issues and asked to change rooms which wasn't possible due to capacity and I was offered a free breakfast. In return I asked for free breakfast every day and I think they said yes but I wasn't eating breakfast there anyway, I was going to a neighborhood bakery and a place called "locals" which was good. I thought the cleanliness of the room could have been improved too. I wasn't overly bothered by the condition and I'm not too picky, I still had a great time, and, like mentioned earlier, the canal-side patio, open bar, and location made it worthwhile. But the place WAS falling apart, or at least my room was.
