Purbeck House, Swanage

I was impressed from the moment I saw this attractive stone building, on a slight rise which gives good views of the beauty of Swanage Bay and the nearby coast. A very friendly and helpful welcome from the moment I came through the door, but not overdone either. My room had a view of the bay and was comfortable and completely clean (as was the entire place). A good space for breakfast - does not do evening meals but many nearby possibilities for that. Large and well cared for garden area an additional amenity. For the price I paid it exceeded my expectations and I can certainly envisage returning for a longer stay, it would be a good base for exploring this attractive part of the country.

This is a stone built listed property of beautiful design and resembles a small castle. It is a unique hotel of a past era but but strangly attractive and very interesting. For its age it is in very good condition and beautifully turned out and decorated in the turn of the 1930 styling. We very much enjoyed our stay and the staff were very helpful and of beautiful character. We felt very much at ease and one of the family.
