We got dropped off at the address given on Hotels.com for this hotel. We searched for 30 minutes for an office. Wouldn’t answer their phone. A local took pity on us and said, “They have an office here, there, and there. Hold on.” He took off on his motorcycle and came back saying he definitely found the office and where to check in. It was at the end of the road, down an alley. He then took my number so we could WhatsApp about his business offerings and only then did I see that the business had sent me check in information via WhatsApp. I don’t use WhatsApp and nowhere in the hotels.com description does it mention it.
During check in, he asked for a cash $40 deposit. After paying him, he informed me it was to pay for electricity use. We took meter photos…
They feed stray cats there. After petting them, my kids went in to wash their hands and my 14 yo daughter screamed out that the water just shocked her. I thought she was exaggerating and convinced her to finish rinsing them when she jolted again. Her fingers burned for several minutes. There’s one water heater in the entire unit and it was an instant water heater for that sink that was wired improperly or failing. Even if that water heater worked, that would still mean every other sink and shower has no hot water.
Mosquitos, fruit flies, and a cockroach in the unit on arrival.
Portable gas tank for stove leaks, so gas odor.
Pictures were not of this unit or the pool.
Charged $0.50/kwh for electricity use, so we lost $20.
