On a very commutable distance to town and clean bathrooms & rooms with fresh linen.. the reception desk girl was also very welcoming as she offered a hot tea on arrival as a welcome tea also ask for handling baggages in-spite of having a construction on site they’ve managed very well. First the good points: There is a good lake view and the one employee who seems to do everything is polite and tries to help. There are a number of issues though. I booked a twin room specifically as it has a balcony but the room does not have one. I queried this but was told this is what I had booked. As I had prepaid there wasn’t much I could do. Other items in the property description not available: guest laundry, satellite TV, daily room service, reception is not manned but you have to call - expensive for international travellers. This was the most expensive and poorest accommodation in my three week tour of New Zealand.

The staff at Lakeview colonial motel were so helpful. They were able to organise an early check in for us which was so useful after a sleepless night beforehand! The room was clean and had everything we needed including free parking. The view of the lake was stunning and queenstown centre was a short bus or 20 minute walk away. The shower temperature was difficult to control (it was either too hot or too cold) but this was a minor problem. We would definitely stay here again as the view was so beautiful and the staff went the extra mile for us.
