Rustic and wonderful!! Various soaking options, beautiful grounds & flowers & butterflies and flora and fauna. We even saw a sloth and howler monkeys. Massages therapist has magic hands! We would def stay here again. Be prepared to travel far on bumpy road. Food was great off the ball inclusive menu. People soooo friendly!

Beautiful location. The gardens and pools were lovely and secluded. The staff went above and beyond. The first day our children asked for syrup with their pancakes and it wasn’t available, so the next day, sure enough-syrup for our pancakes! It’s the little things that stand out! It’s secluded, but that’s part of the charm ☺️

We were so pleased with the thermal pools. No smell. We had them almost to ourselves mid February and thought the temp was perfect- the fresh water pool with slide was too cold tho. The resort itself was nice. You had a private cabin that was kept clean and the property had much to explore in terms of pools and gardens. The real amenity of this property is its proximity to Cocina de Mayrita - which is the most delicious food I’ve had in Costa Rica and probably ever. Maybe 10 mins away from the resort, their cheap food and amazing hospitality makes the stay worth it. Not much else nearby. Food at the resort was alright, but wouldn’t stay more than a few nights.

This is the most magical place! When you’re done frolicking in all the different pools nestled amongst the most beautiful gardens and taking advantage of all the unique and free amenities and sites on the property you can have a delicious dinner and cocktails on site. I can’t wait to go back! It’s a rocky ride from Liberia though, make sure you rent a 4x4!

The resort is amazing and unique. The grounds are breathtaking. The cabins are awesome. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is lots to do. The wifi is spotty and the road to the property is very tricky to drive on - a 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended with an experienced driver at the wheel. Once you get to the resort, though, you’ll be happy you came.

Blue River Resort is a really lovely place, the gardens are beautiful and a nice walk even in the rain (it IS a rain forest - so you have to expect it!). There are different pools, both hot and fresh water, very nice to float in the heat! The restaurant has good food, excellent service! The rooms are nice, like a cottage, very large and quite comfortable.
