Great location near Yasaka Shrine, Kennin-ji, and Kiyomeza Dera. Very much enjoyed the Japanese style breakfast buffet. The hotel was undergoing renovation work in April 2025 so the exterior and all windows were entirely covered, so some travelers will object.

The location was perfect! Very walkable to all there is to do in Gion. Bus stop in front of the hotel and a short walk to the train. The room was very spacious for us, especially after coming from a tiny room in Tokyo it felt huge. Temperature control in the room was nice. The breakfast buffet could be better, it was a bit expensive for what it was.

You won't have a better location, right in the Gion district, a few blocks from practically everything in the area, close to both train and bus stations, the attention of the staff was excellent, very friendly, and the rooms, although they are very small like almost all in Japan, very comfortable and with a good rest.

Also out of 4 nights of our stay the room was cleaned only once, which isnt enough - even though clean towels were put outside our door without fail, so its in the plus side. The local was absolutely great, and all in all, the hotel was very nice overall...
