Quick stay before early flight next day - very friendly guy at front desk, did a wake up call and helped my taxi find the place. Would definitely stay here again

Basic accommodation but with nice little touches such as free water bottles and soft toilet paper added to the experience. The room was large and clean, with enough beds for families. Eias in the reception is accommodating and helpful. This cosy place has great potential. Definitely recommended!

Clean and great service.

My stay was great, the room was clean and the service was fantastic. They are in the process of modernizing the rooms so work is ongoing in areas.

Made very welcome and Eias enthusiastically explained the new owner is in the process of updating everything. The room was clean and comfortable, Gatwick airport conveniently close by and there’s a little Sainsbury’s just over the road. Hopefully a new sign will go up soon so it’s easier to find. Would stay again. Thanks.

8/10 Very good

We stayed for just one night prior to an early flight the following morning. Unfortunately the room I had booked was not available (had been damaged due to fire) we were given the family room right at the top of the building, room overall comfortable, furniture very basic and falling apart, sheets/towels clean and bed comfortable, unfortunately it was the hottest night of the year and room was unbearable hot, window could only open a certain amount, we did ask reception for a fan but none available. Minimal sleep due to heat but that wasn’t really the hotels fault. Otherwise the hotel was decent for what we paid and was in perfect location for the airport. Receptionist very friendly and helped as much as he could.

Will definitely return

We cofault the care and attentivness of the owner/ host. Nothing wa stoo much trouble, and we were made to feel welcome. We really enjoyed the relaxed home from home feel. The upcoming refurbishment & modenisation will only increase the overall rating of staying here. Would absolutely reccomned for the price to what you get - cleanliness, attentive host & beautiful old building. Easy to find, plenty of parking space & very close to amenities. Great shout for night before going to the airport. We will be back & look forward to seeing the changes. Thank you.

Bargain!

My husband & I had to travel from the other end of the country to visit an elderly relative in the nearby hospital, and needed a reasonably-priced last-minute room for 2 nights. This fitted the bill perfectly, and I knew we'd made the right choice when I spoke to the Manager. What a lovely guy: friendly, honest, helpful, straightforward, and so easy to deal with. Many hotel managers could take a lesson from him. The hotel has only recently been bought by the present owners and needs refurbishment, but we knew that before we went, and the price of the rooms reflects it anyway. The beds were very comfortable, the room spacious, there was a fridge and a large TV, and it was a nice surprise to find a bath - so many hotels only have showers. There's free WIFI & parking, which is very helpful. Everything in the room was clean, even if not in the best condition (as already explained), but it didn't bother us in the slightest. Having previously stayed at the Premier Inn just along the road, which was much more expensive and no better in terms of sleep quality (and FAR less friendly!), we'd much sooner return to the London Gatwick Inn when we visit Horley/Salfords again. Warning! The hotel is not very easy to find due to the house numbers in the road being hard to spot and the hotel signage being quite small as you approach, so look out for the Sainsbury's Local/Petrol Station: the hotel is right opposite. Turn in where you see the No Stopping/Clearway road sign.

Great Reception Manager but place not great

The front office manager Iyas was just wonderful. He was very polite, helpful and kind. He did mention to us that the hotel is just being bought by new owners and they are trying to fix things as the room was not all up to the mark. The toilet made deafening sound each time you flushed. The sliding door of the toilet also made war like sound whilst closing and opening. Wash basin mirror rack was missing so there was no place to put our toiletries. The room has no facility to hang clothes, no wardrobe or any provision to put your clothes on. But as I mention the Manager in charge makes it a pleasant stay, a very friendly and helpful person who would go out of the way to help guests. Thanks Iyas for your help and guidance during our stay!
