We had one of the larger rooms in the "villa" annex, and it was very spacious and comfortable. Everything was very modern, including window blinds that are operated electrically. It took a bit of experimentation to figure out what all the switches did. The walk-in shower was especially nice.

The Schweizerhof is a very modern and comfortable hotel. Quiet and comfortable rooms. The hotel has excellent facilities including a bar on the ground and ice and fresh water rooms on each floor. The breakfast was great. Great transport links with the train and tram outside. I liked as a hotel guest the hotel gives you a free pass around Basel. I highly recommend the hotel.

This is a great hotel - perfect if being near the main station/transport is important. It’s a very traditional place in terms of decor but everything was immaculate and well looked after - our room was really spacious and even had an exercise bike which we weren’t expecting! The hotel is nice and the location was excellent- close to the station and transport hub. The room was clean and large for a single, but the layout was oddly claustrophobic with the bed squeezed up against the wall despite having plenty of room for a better layout. Also the bed was quite uncomfortable, so I didn’t really get much sleep here. I’m sure in a different layout room the hotel would be a great choice.

The hotel is beautiful, conveniently located near the train and the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. We loved our stay. The best part was the staff who were so accommodating. We had an extremely difficult journey to get to Basel due to our train being canceled, and the front desk woman so graciously allowed us to check in early. It honestly made our first day in Switzerland such a dream. I will look for their hotels whenever I travel.

Nice hotel in excellent location

Excellent location / friendly staff / good room / older hotel but well maintained / comfortable bed / included a ticket for public transport during the stay which i think is a great idea / we had a room towards the front therefore it was a bit noisy from the Trams in front of the hotel but that did not bother us.

Good value in Switzerland!

We only stayed one night but location was good coming from airport on the bus. Also tram stops right putside hotel.Some vibration from trams but not particularly noisy. Large room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Staff very helpful with perfect English. Breakfast excellent with lots of choice and tea or coffee served at our table.

Lovely Swiss hotel with atttentive staff. Room was very nice - comfy bed, lots of pillows. The AC worked wonderfully despite temps over 90°F and being on the fifth floor. Great breakfast. Proximity to public transportion was key for our busy, compressed schedule and so easy to use. The BaselPass saved us hundreds of dollars on cabs.
