Lovely hotel badly let down by poor service
This is a beautiful hotel with very comfortable rooms and an excellent shower
It is situated a ten to twelve minutes walk from the harbour
The "partial sea view rooms" do have a view of the sea of a sort....but it is a long way away over an unattractive urban landscape. This is visible from floors4 to 6. Standard rooms on lower floors are identical without the view.
Service was poor. A nice breakfast was spoiled by poor and at times hilariously surly service. My room had not been cleaned by 2.30pm on both days. I met the very pleasant general manager to discuss these issues. He offered me a free evening meal, which was a fair outcome. Amusingly, although he offered me a coffee while we met, this did not arrive within 15 minutes despite increasingly frantic efforts on his part. He said he had a lot of new staff....and it showed. Time for some serious training
