Beautiful spot for couples break

Loved the SPA, private beach and other amenities. Very good location considering there is a free bus stop right outside the entrance that brings you to downtown Peurto Vallarta and it runs very regularly

It was nice to stay away from the crowd. The bus was cheap to take around and a private beach with less crowds.

Great resort. The food was amazing and very affordable. The pool and beach areas were great and the little convenience store in the lobby was nice to have so close.

Great hotel for people who want a quiet place and access to a peaceful beach in the facility’s area ! But if you like to go back and forth between your hotel and downtown like we did you easily lose double the price of a hotel room in the downtown !

Great place to stay. Good food. Very clean. Amazing view! Close enough to town with uber and taxi service. Nice to have a kitchenette. Limited lounger chairs at the pool. We had to wait most of the day for loungers. People seem to put towels on them but never actually use them.

We had a wonderful break at Costa Sur Resort. Although on the smaller size, the resort had all the benefits of a bigger place. It was spotlessly clean and we really appreciated that the room was cleaned on a daily basis. Having the option of two pools and the beach was great. The buildings are a bit dated but charming. Our biggest thanks goes to the wonderful staff - because the property is not too big, you really get a chance to know the staff. Special shout outs to Kevin, Raphael, Mauricio and Alejandro who went above and beyond to make sure we had a good holiday. We will definitely be back.

The good: great ocean views, awesome staff, good rates The not so good: we were very disappointed with the food at the restaurant. The quality wasn't great, but the worse was that our dishes would systematically arrive late and lukewarm. Also, the hotel is near a fairly busy road and the noise from trucks which decelerate and accelerate on the speed bumps by the hotel entrance is deafening. The noise comes through the bathroom windows directly into the bedroom

We've stayed there 4 times , counting this visit. Our maid did a wonderful job on our room. The pool was warm and clean. The cove is great because the waves are controlled by the huge boulders, and at low tide you can see fish swimming. But, wed asked for a room on a higher floor, but got one on the 5th. In past years they did something special for us for our anniversary, which is in February but I told them were unable to travel this coming February. They didn't do anything this visit.

The hotel was nice in general close to the ocean. I was raving about how nice and friendly the staff was and would come back to the same hotel again. But the last night of the stay we went in to the restaurant as usual. We sign the bill and left. When we check out the restaurant bill was not the same. One of the staff charge us 100 peso in tips. I had to explain the bills is wrong so many times, I just gave up and pay the total of the stay. It wasn’t the 100 peso It was the integrity I would not care less. I would have said I would come back, but I’ll try other hotel in the area next time.

service is good! The view from my room's balcony was breathtaking!!!! It was an incredible ocean view and the sound of ocean waves was so soothing....I just wish the facilities in my room were better. For example, the water sink. I had to keep pushing that thing in the sink to make the water go down. Sometimes the room services were not always on time. I was back to my hotel room one night and found it wasn't really cleaned. But the staff were super nice and they gave me new towels and got my room cleaned the next day. So overall, it was a good experience!

2/10 Poor

Sleepless at the Sur.

Do no be tricked by the beauty of the ocean out front. If you can sleep through the sound of 1,000 cars and noisy trucks and buses driving by 24 hours a day from directly behind the resort, and the pounding surf from the front in VERY un-soundproof rooms, then this is the place for you. Beds and pillows are not comfortable. Two of our party of three also ended up with food poisoning as did a few other guests we spoke with. Both taps in our shower were hot water. There was a plumbing leak under the kitchen sink and a mess on the floor which I washed myself after they ran a dirty mop across it. Mexico is officially off the destination list.

We had a wonderful stay at Costa Sur Resort in Puerto Vallarta. Pros: • Beautiful waterfront location with easy beach access. • Safe, with great activities, pools, and poolside bar service. • Friendly front desk and poolside staff. • Convenient bus stop right in front of the resort. Cons: • Limited walkable roads and no nearby shopping or dining options. • Room service was a bit slow, and there was a leaking water pipe under the sink. • No conditioner was provided throughout our stay, though shampoo and soap were. • Two bottles of water and coffee were provided on the first day; after that, they had to be purchased. • Bath and pool towels had an unpleasant odor, similar to feet, and could benefit from more thorough laundering with deodorizing agents. • The property is located near a main road, which can be somewhat noisy at night. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and we hope the resort addresses these minor issues in the future.

The property is under renovation, some suites have been updated many have not. Except for the 1st floor the balconies are tiny and do not hold a chair. Our room on the 1st floor had cockroaches. We were not able to use our balcony as maintenance was taking place on upper floors and debris was falling. There was a complete power outage scheduled for a day during our stay. We bought the breakfast package which was a waste of money as there was limited selection and the food was not good - eggs under cooked and meat was gray in color. We moved to another resort.

When I first booked this hotel, I was on the impression that it was an all inclusive resort, that was one of the main reasons we made the reservations there. When it was time to check in, we were told otherwise. When we got our room, our room was really dirty, dust everywhere, the curtains were extremely dirty and stained and the bathroom was disgusting. We were there to celebrate our honeymoon and seeing that as our first impression left us with a bad feeling about the resort. We had to complain multiple times in order to get a new room. We heard from multiple people at the resort that they also had a bad experience checking in or having the impression of an all inclusive resort when they did the booking as well. The staff at the restaurant, bar and cleaning maids were really nice and had a great costumer service. The hotel does not look like the property pictures, the hotel is old and needs a renovation asap. Make sure you call the resort before checking in, to get a full description on what you are paying for.
