10/10 Exceptional

Great hotel in paddington.

This is a little gem of a hotel in Paddington - clean and comfy rooms in one of the many older style hotels in this area. My room was on the top floor - quite a climb and the room as small it was perfect for as a solo traveller and worth the price. I will stay here again.

Great location and value for money!

Great location and value for money! Carrying the luggage upstairs was not so nice but I was rewarded with a great view of the trees in Norfolk Square. Nice staff at reception. I could store my luggage after checking out. Single room was small but sufficient. Would stay there again!

Great hotel for family of five near Metro and bus

We appreciated that we could leave our luggage before we checked in at 3 PM. Once we checked in our room was perfect for our family of five with a tiny bathroom as well. It was a little stuffy, but they offered a fan which helped. The breakfast was amazing and delicious. We were extremely close to two bus stops and a major metro Station. We would definitely stay here again. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Affordable hotel in good location. Clean and well cared for. No elevator, extra small bathroom and tube runs underneath.
Holli, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

It wasn't even close to advertisement...The breakfast included only egg (scrambled or boiled), one kind of cold cut, bread, one kind of cheese, juice, milk....The service was nice/kind👍

We had an okay stay at Shakespeare Hotel. Didn't feel very welcomed by staff, room was tiny and clean enough but felt quite old and stuffy. Location was good!

I’m not sure what bedbugs look like, but I think they have an infestation.

A little tatty but perfectly adequate for a weekend break. A bit of noise in the ground floor room but I still slept well on the comfortable bed

Return Visit.

Another quick visit to London and The Shakespeare. It's ideal for its convenient location, which is close to Paddington Rail & Tube, with nearby choice of food and drink establishments. The room is small but perfectly suitable for a solo one-night stay, with a good shower and comfortable bed, along with helpful staff.

Honest Review

Rooms are small and cramped , even for 2 people. The tube runs directly under the Hotel so the floors and walls vibrated all night until midnight making getting any sleep rough. Uncomfortable sleeping conditions, noisy and hot with no A/C and window would not open to help cool the room.

Lovely hotel

We had a lovely time. We went to London to see The cirque du soleil. The hotel is very central and very clean, ideal if you want to stay central with eatery around and a underground a few steps away.We definitely come back. Lovely staff as well.

To spend, or not to spend, that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The fees and wages of outrageous fortune, Or to take lodge amidst a sea of troubles. To sleep, no more; and by a sleep to say we end The back-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to: 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish'd. To sleep, perchance to dream—ay, there's the rub: For in that hotel sleep what dreams may come, When we have shuffled off this mattress coil, Must give us pause.
Yehuda, 2-night trip

Okay

We stayed for one night because the hotel was very convenient to Paddington. The room was basic but fine. It was clean. The biggest problem is that we were on the ground floor and the hotel is so close to the trains and tubes that we heard and felt them going through until traffic slowed down overnight. It worked well for one night before onwhard travel out of Heathrow and allowed us an afternoon to walk around in the city rather than being stuck out by the airport, but I wouldn't want to stay for many days unless in a room farther from the rumble.

Only spent a night, but it was a comfy stay. I'll have no issue returning. Good value for money given the prices in London.
