Excellent and convenient stay in central Osaka

Very nice, new hotel. Excellent location - very close to Osaka station, and to Time Out market with many excellent restaurants, also close to the Umekita square / park. We are very happy with this hotel and felt very comfortable. There is also laundry machines and vending machines inside the hotel.The breakfast is quite expensive but other options in the close area are easy to find. In the same building are various shops and also a large spa with many varieties of japanese hot springs. You can buy a ticket with reduced price through the hotel. Separate sections for men/women. Also outdoor pool for additional fee.

Great hotel!

Loved staying here…my corner room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. It’s a new hotel so everything is state-of-the-art & it took me a while to figure out the lights. Linens and towels were top quality, the bed was really comfortable, and the bathtub was superb! They even provide wonderful bath salts! The location is great…conveniently located right across from the train station. The staff were all outstanding and super nice. Would definitely stay here again!

Osaka 2025

It was a great hotel, but my only complaint is that catching taxis, especially Go was not convenient. Having to walk to the Ongate Corner of the Osaka Station was not great, especially in the summer heat. There were very few Affordable breakfast venues near hotel that open before 8/9. The walk to the Midosuji line was a bit far.

Check was long and unwieldy, both self keying in info on a screen and dealing with a live employee, this made checkin about 10 minutes long! Also, the executive lounge was small and we felt we were being watched the whole time we we there :(. I guess they want to keep track of the free liquor!

The worst stay in Osaka

The location was the WORST in Osaka after all these years. Even taxis don’t come here. Hotel staff r still new n don’t know lots of things as it just opened in March. Room r too tiny for 2 persons after the charge is so high due yo Expo. Never recommend to stay here unless very cheap.

Okay, but…

Nice and new hotel, but somehow left me confused about what it wanted to be. Exclusive, but self service all over. Cool breakfast restaurant, but you have to wait in a line for coffee. Booked a room for four persons, but it just two towels. Cleaned the room, but did not take out our empty plastic trash. Unfortunately, our visit left me with an impression that the hotel could not live up to it’s own expectations.

Two nights in Osaka. The worst service I could imagine. Inconvenient, one elevator to fifth floor lobby. Then a different elevator to room. No sign in front to indicate hotel. Great breakfast buffet but staff is not helpful. Staff would not call for taxi. Sends you down the street to taxi stand. Any other hotel could not be worse than this one. Try another before Hotel Hankyu Grand Respire. Any other hotel cannot be

Not English/ foreign language friendly

There was a 10% discount at the restaurant on the 5th floor for those staying in the hotel, but when my father had dinner there, the staffs didn't give him the discount. He presented his room key, but still was charged at full price. When I got back to the hotel, I went to talk to the manager on duty and we got the price difference back. The manager stated that it was a misunderstanding, because my father spoke only English, and their staffs are not proficient enough to understand him. I spoke to the manager in Japanese and got this settled. The staffs' foreign language proficiency is disappointing. If you don't speak Japanese, I suggest you consider staying in another hotel.
