Vikings for the Win!!
What a wonderful place to stay! We loved this themed hotel! So many things to see and experience - everywhere you turn you can see Viking artifacts. Breakfast was well appointed - AND -you can eat in a “cave”! The restaurant on the property provide our favorite meal of our week in Iceland - we ever received a personal tour of the amazing Viking decor. A delightful experience!

2nd visit was better.
This was the 2nd time we stayed at the Hotel Viking and we enjoyed this time better. Previously we were "upgraded" to the cabins on the property but felt more comfortable this time in the main building. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is a bit of a drive from the main downtown area of Reykjavik....but was no problem if you have a car.

This is a great spot - I loved the charm - free parking and free breakfast couldn’t be beat - part of parking lot was gated off - but otherwise no complaints- the girls working the night shift were delightful and helpful !

For the price, a decent place to stay.
We were upgraded to one of the cottages by chance. It was cold in the room and overall it was ok. We had stayed also in the main hotel portion on our return to Reykjavik and enjoyed staying in the mail hotel more. Breakfast was typical for Icelandic hotels....but good. The room cost was reasonable, but you are located outside of the main area. This was ok for us since we were renting a car.
