All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The superior double room was spotlessly clean, with a comfortable king sized bed. The food at the Royal was delicious. It’s outside terrace is a real bonus overlooking the river.

Just a great place to eat drink and sleep credit to all at royal staff so good from booking in bar staff and the wonderful lady at breakfast. I travel the uk on bussiness and this is one of the best places to stay breakfast is the best i have had for a while Well done keep it up

Lovely food on site. Amazing views ,ideally.place for river walk or shops. Feels like a lovely step back in time - Still have keys for the doors. Quaint but with all the facilities needed for a very relaxing break.

Fantastic stay. Beautiful location we felt like lords of the manor. A real rustic first class hotel. Felt like we were living in upper class 1923. Food was also outstanding Jacob cooked a steak that was better than miller and carter. We will return excellent views from room 25.
