This property was absolutely charming! Conveniently located, remarkably clean and well appointed. Loved the microwave and fridge in every room--a must for traveling. Note: we had a few lightbulbs out in our chandelier in the studio room. Only one complaint: the snow clearing could be improved, especially around the second floor stairway. We made last minute reservations to come to Placid to hike during peak foliage. The Snowshoe Lodge was a great place to stay. Clean, comfortable, quiet, and in a great location to walk to the village stores, restaurants, and around Mirror Lake.

The check in and check out process is very unorthodox but extremely easy and simple. I was a little worried when I went into the office/welcome room to get the key because it smells like cigarettes, but the room itself was perfect. You can tell they are updated rooms and look exactly like the pictures shown. They even have that fresh wood smell which makes the room feel like you’re in a cabin and not just a room. We loved our stay here and would definitely come back.
